Testamento de Isaque 3

1Agora Jacó os ouviu conversando, mas não disse nada. Nosso pai Isaque disse ao anjo com o coração pesado. O que farei com a luz dos meus olhos, meu amado filho Jacó? Pois tenho medo do que Esaú possa fazer com ele – você conhece a situação.

1Now Jacob heard them talking together, but he said nothing. Our father Isaac said to the angel with a heavy heart. What shall I do about the light of my eyes, my beloved son Jacob? For I am afraid of what Esau might do to him - you know the situation.

2O anjo disse-lhe: ‘Meu amado Isaque, se todas as nações da terra estivessem reunidas, não seriam capazes de reduzir a nada estas bênçãos pronunciadas sobre Jacó. Quando você o abençoou, o Pai e o Filho e o Espírito Santo o abençoaram; e Miguel e Gabriel e todos os anjos e todos os seres celestiais e os espíritos de todos os justos e seu pai Abraão responderam Amém.

2The angel said to him: ‘My beloved Isaac, if all the nations on earth were gathered together, they would not be able to bring these blessings pronounced over Jacob to nothing. When you blessed him, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit blessed him; and Michael and Gabriel and all the angels and all the heavenly ones and the spirits of all the righteous and your father Abraham all answered Amen.

3A espada, portanto, não tocará seu corpo; mas ele será tido em alta honra e crescerá e se espalhará por toda parte, e doze tronos surgirão dele”. Nosso pai Isaque disse ao anjo: ‘Você me deu muito conforto, mas não deixe Jacó saber, caso ele esteja angustiado’.

3The sword therefore, shall not touch his body; but he shall be held in high honour and grow great and spread far and wide, and twelve thrones shall spring from him’. Our father Isaac said to the angel: ‘You have given me much comfort, but do not let Jacob know in case he is distressed’.

4O anjo disse-lhe: ‘Meu amado Isaque, bem-aventurado todo homem justo que sai do corpo: bem-aventurados os que se encontram com Deus. Ai. ai, ai, três vezes ai do pecador, porque ele nasceu neste mundo: grandes sofrimentos virão sobre ele.

4The angel said to him: ‘My beloved Isaac, blessed is every righteous man who goes forth from the body: blessed are they when they meet with God. Woe. woe, woe, three times woe to the sinner, because he has been born into this world: great sufferings will come to him.

5Isaque, amado de Deus. dê essas instruções, portanto, a seus filhos, e as instruções que seu pai lhe deu. Não esconda nada de Jacó, para que ele possa escrevê-las como instruções para as gerações que virão depois de você. e aqueles que amam a Deus podem viver suas vidas de acordo com eles.

5Isaac, beloved of God. give these instructions, therefore, to your sons, and the instructions your father has given you. Hide nothing from Jacob, so that he can write them as instructions for the generations that will come after you. and those who love God may live their lives in accordance with them.

6E tome cuidado para que eu possa buscá-lo com alegria, sem demora. A paz do meu Senhor, que ele me deu, eu dou a vocês, assim como vou para aquele que me enviou”.

6And take care that I am able to fetch you with joy, without delay. The peace of my Lord that he has given me, I give to you, as I go to him who sent me’.
