Testamento de Isaque 2

1Agora aconteceu que, quando chegou a hora de o Patriarca Isaque sair do corpo, Deus enviou-lhe o anjo de seu pai Abraão, na madrugada do dia 22 de Mesore.

1Now it came to pass, when the time had come for the Patriarch Isaac to go forth from the body, God sent to him the angel of his father Abraham at dawn on the twenty-second of Mesore.

2Ele lhe disse: Salve, filho da promessa! (Ora, era costume diário do velho e justo Isaque conversar com os anjos.) Ele ergueu seu rosto até o rosto do anjo: ele o viu assumindo a semelhança de seu pai Abraão; e ele abriu a boca e levantou a voz e gritou com grande alegria: Eu vi o seu rosto como alguém que viu o rosto de Deus.

2He said to him, Hail, son of promise! (Now it was the daily custom of the righteous old man Isaac to converse with the angels.) He lifted his face up to the face of the angel: he saw him assuming the likeness of his father Abraham; and he opened his mouth and raised his voice and cried out in great joy, I have seen your face like someone who has seen the face of God.

3O anjo lhe disse: Ouve, meu amado Isaque: fui enviado por Deus para te levar aos céus e te colocar ao lado de teu pai Abraão, para que possas ver todos os santos; pois seu pai está esperando por você e vem pessoalmente buscá-lo.

3The angel said to him, Listen, my beloved Isaac: I have been sent for you by God to take you to the heavens and set you beside your father Abraham, so that you can see all the saints; for your father is expecting you and is coming for you himself.

4Eis que um trono foi estabelecido para você perto de seu pai Abraão, e sua sorte e a sorte de seu amado filho Jacó superarão a de todos os outros em toda a criação de Deus, é por isso que você recebeu para sempre o nome de Patriarca e Pai do Mundo.

4Behold, a throne has been set up for you close to your father Abraham, and your lot and your beloved son Jacob's lot will surpass that of all others in the whole of God's creation that is why you have been given for evermore the name of Patriarch and Father of the World.

5Mas o velho Isaque, amante de Deus, disse ao anjo: ‘Estou surpreso com você, pois você é meu pai’. O anjo respondeu, meu amado Isaque, eu sou o anjo que ministra ao seu pai Abraão.

5But the God-loving old man Isaac said to the angel, ‘I am astonished by you, for you are my father’. The angel answered, my beloved Isaac, I am the angel that ministers to your father Abraham.

6Mas alegre-se agora, pois devo tirá-lo da tristeza para a alegria, do sofrimento para descansar para sempre. Devo transportá-lo da prisão para um lugar onde você possa passear à vontade - para um lugar de alegria e alegria: devo levá-lo para onde há luz, alegria, regozijo e abundância que nunca falha.

6But rejoice now, for I am to take you out of sorrow into gladness, out of suffering to rest for ever. I am to transport you from prison to a place where you can range at will—to a place of joy and gladness: I am to take you to where there is light and merriment and rejoicing and abundance that never fails.

7Então, elabore seu testamento e uma declaração para sua família. pois devo transladar você para descansar por toda a eternidade. Bem-aventurado o teu pai que te gerou: bem-aventurado és tu também: bem-aventurado o teu filho Jacó; e bem-aventurados os teus descendentes que virão depois de ti.

7So then, draw up your testament and a statement for your household. for I am to translate you to rest for all eternity. Blessed is your father who begot you: blessed are you also: blessed is your son Jacob; and blessed are your descendants that will come after you.
