Testamento de Abraão 7

1E Abraão deixou Sara, e entrou na câmara, e disse a Isaque: Venha aqui, meu filho amado, diga-me a verdade, o que você viu e o que aconteceu com você que veio tão apressadamente até nós.

1And Abraham left Sarah, and went into the chamber, and said to Isaac, Come hither, my beloved son, tell me the truth, what it was you saw and what befell you that you came so hastily to us.

2E Isaque, respondendo, começou a dizer: Eu vi, meu Senhor, nesta noite o sol e a lua acima da minha cabeça, cercando-me com seus raios e me iluminando. Enquanto eu olhava para isso e me regozijava, vi o céu aberto e um homem carregando luz descer dele, brilhando mais do que sete sóis.

2And Isaac answering began to say, I saw, my Lord, in this night the sun and the moon above my head, surrounding me with its rays and giving me light. As I gazed at this and rejoiced, I saw the heaven opened, and a man bearing light descend from it, shining more than seven suns.

3E este homem como o sol veio e tirou o sol da minha cabeça, e subiu aos céus de onde veio, mas fiquei muito triste por ele ter tirado o sol de mim.

3And this man like the sun came and took away the sun from my head, and went up into the heavens from whence he came, but I was greatly grieved that he took away the sun from me.

4Depois de um tempo, enquanto eu ainda estava triste e perturbado, vi esse homem sair do céu pela segunda vez, e ele tirou de mim também a lua de minha cabeça, e chorei muito e invoquei aquele homem de luz e disse: Não, meu Senhor, tire de mim minha glória; tenha pena de mim e me ouça, e se você tirar o sol de mim, deixe a lua comigo.

4After a little, as I was still sorrowing and sore troubled, I saw this man come forth from heaven a second time, and he took away from me the moon also from off my head, and I wept greatly and called upon that man of light, and said, Do not, my Lord, take away my glory from me; pity me and hear me, and if you take away the sun from me, then leave the moon to me.

5Ele disse: Deixe-os ser levados ao rei lá de cima, pois ele os deseja lá. E ele os tirou de mim, mas deixou os raios sobre mim.

5He said, Suffer them to be taken up to the king above, for he wishes them there. And he took them away from me, but he left the rays upon me.

6O capitão-chefe disse: Ouve, ó justo Abraão; o sol que seu filho viu é você, seu pai, e a lua também é Sara, sua mãe. O homem portador de luz que desceu do céu, este é o enviado de Deus para tirar de você a sua alma justa.

6The chief-captain said, Hear, O righteous Abraham; the sun which your son saw is you his father, and the moon likewise is Sarah his mother. The man bearing light who descended from heaven, this is the one sent from God who is to take your righteous soul from you.

7E agora saiba, ó honrado Abraão, que neste momento você deixará esta vida mundana e se mudará para Deus. Abraão disse ao capitão-chefe: Ó, a mais estranha das maravilhas! E agora é você quem tirará minha alma de mim?

7And now know, O most honored Abraham, that at this time you shall leave this worldly life, and remove to God. Abraham said to the chief captain, O strangest of marvels! And now are you he that shall take my soul from me?

8O capitão-chefe disse-lhe: Eu sou o capitão-chefe Michael, que está diante do Senhor, e fui enviado a você para lembrá-lo de sua morte, e então partirei para ele como me foi ordenado.

8The chief-captain said to him, I am the chief-captain Michael, that stands before the Lord, and I was sent to you to remind you of your death, and then I shall depart to him as I was commanded.

9Abraão disse: Agora sei que você é um anjo do Senhor e foi enviado para levar minha alma, mas não irei com você; mas faça tudo o que lhe for ordenado.

9Abraham said, Now I know that you are an angel of the Lord, and wast sent to take my soul, but I will not go with you; but do whatever you are commanded.
