Salmos 97

1O SENHOR reina; regozije-se a terra; alegrem-se as muitas ilhas.

1The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad {thereof}. {multitude...: Heb. many, or, great isles}

2Nuvens e escuridão estão ao redor dele; justiça e juízo são a base do seu trono.

2Clouds and darkness {are} round about him: righteousness and judgment {are} the habitation of his throne. {habitation: or, establishment}

3Um fogo vai adiante dele, e abrasa os seus inimigos em redor.

3A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

4Os seus relâmpagos iluminam o mundo; a terra viu e tremeu.

4His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

5Os montes derretem como cera na presença do Senhor, na presença do Senhor de toda a terra.

5The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6Os céus anunciam a sua justiça, e todos os povos vêem a sua glória.

6The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

7Confundidos sejam todos os que servem imagens de escultura, que se gloriam de ídolos; prostrai-vos diante dele todos os deuses.

7Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all {ye} gods.

8Sião ouviu e se alegrou; e os filhos de Judá se alegraram por causa da tua justiça, ó Senhor.

8Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.

9Pois tu, Senhor, és o mais alto sobre toda a terra; tu és muito mais exaltado do que todos os deuses.

9For thou, LORD, {art} high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

10Vós, que amais ao Senhor, odiai o mal. Ele guarda as almas dos seus santos; ele os livra das mãos dos ímpios.

10Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

11A luz semeia-se para o justo, e a alegria para os retos de coração.

11Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12Alegrai-vos, ó justos, no Senhor, e dai louvores à memória da sua santidade.

12Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. {at...: or, to the memorial}
