Salmos 83

1Ó Deus, não estejas em silêncio; não te cales, nem te aquietes, ó Deus,

1A Song {or} Psalm of Asaph.] Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. {of Asaph: or, for Asaph}

2Porque eis que teus inimigos fazem tumulto, e os que te odeiam levantaram a cabeça.

2For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.

3Tomaram astuto conselho contra o teu povo, e consultaram contra os teus escondidos.

3They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.

4Disseram: Vinde, e desarraiguemo-los para que não sejam nação, nem haja mais memória do nome de Israel.

4They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from {being} a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

5Porque consultaram juntos e unânimes; eles se unem contra ti:

5For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee: {consent: Heb. heart}

6As tendas de Edom, e dos ismaelitas, de Moabe, e dos agarenos,

6The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;

7De Gebal, e de Amom, e de Amaleque, a Filístia, com os moradores de Tiro;

7Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;

8Também a Assíria se ajuntou com eles; foram ajudar aos filhos de Ló. (Selá.)

8Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah. {holpen: Heb. been an arm to}

9Faze-lhes como aos midianitas; como a Sísera, como a Jabim na ribeira de Quisom;

9Do unto them as {unto} the Midianites; as {to} Sisera, as {to} Jabin, at the brook of Kison:

10Os quais pereceram em Endor; tornaram-se como estrume para a terra.

10{Which} perished at Endor: they became {as} dung for the earth.

11Faze aos seus nobres como a Orebe, e como a Zeebe; e a todos os seus príncipes, como a Zebá e como a Zalmuna,

11Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:

12Que disseram: Tomemos para nós as casas de Deus em possessão.

12Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.

13Deus meu, faze-os como um tufão, como a aresta diante do vento.

13O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.

14Como o fogo que queima um bosque, e como a chama que incendeia as brenhas,

14As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;

15Assim os persegue com a tua tempestade, e os assombra com o teu torvelinho.

15So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.

16Encham-se de vergonha as suas faces, para que busquem o teu nome, Senhor.

16Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.

17Confundam-se e assombrem-se perpetuamente; envergonhem-se, e pereçam,

17Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:

18Para que saibam que tu, a quem só pertence o nome de Senhor, és o Altíssimo sobre toda a terra.

18That {men} may know that thou, whose name alone {is} JEHOVAH, {art} the most high over all the earth.
