Salmos 8

1Ó Senhor, Senhor nosso, quão admirável é o teu nome em toda a terra, pois puseste a tua glória sobre os céus!

1To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.] O LORD our Lord, how excellent {is} thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.

2Tu ordenaste força da boca das crianças e dos que mamam, por causa dos teus inimigos, para fazer calar ao inimigo e ao vingador.

2Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger. {ordained: Heb. founded}

3Quando vejo os teus céus, obra dos teus dedos, a lua e as estrelas que preparaste;

3When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

4Que é o homem mortal para que te lembres dele? e o filho do homem, para que o visites?

4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

5Pois pouco menor o fizeste do que os anjos, e de glória e de honra o coroaste.

5For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

6Fazes com que ele tenha domínio sobre as obras das tuas mãos; tudo puseste debaixo de seus pés:

6Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all {things} under his feet:

7Todas as ovelhas e bois, assim como os animais do campo,

7All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field; {All...: Heb. Flocks and oxen all of them}

8As aves dos céus, e os peixes do mar, e tudo o que passa pelas veredas dos mares.

8The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, {and whatsoever} passeth through the paths of the seas.

9Ó Senhor, Senhor nosso, quão admirável é o teu nome sobre toda a terra!

9O LORD our Lord, how excellent {is} thy name in all the earth!
