Salmos 59

1Livra-me, meu Deus, dos meus inimigos, defende-me daqueles que se levantam contra mim.

1To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David; when Saul sent, and they watched the house to kill him.] Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me. {Altaschith...: or, Destroy not} {Michtam: or, A golden Psalm} {defend...: Heb. set me on high}

2Livra-me dos que praticam a iniqüidade, e salva-me dos homens sanguinários.

2Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

3Pois eis que põem ciladas à minha alma; os fortes se ajuntam contra mim, não por transgressão minha ou por pecado meu, ó Senhor.

3For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not {for} my transgression, nor {for} my sin, O LORD.

4Eles correm, e se preparam, sem culpa minha; desperta para me ajudares, e olha.

4They run and prepare themselves without {my} fault: awake to help me, and behold. {help: Heb. meet}

5Tu, pois, ó Senhor, Deus dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel, desperta para visitares todos os gentios; não tenhas misericórdia de nenhum dos pérfidos que praticam a iniqüidade. (Selá.)

5Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.

6Voltam à tarde; dão ganidos como cães, e rodeiam a cidade.

6They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

7Eis que eles dão gritos com as suas bocas; espadas estão nos seus lábios, porque, dizem eles: Quem ouve?

7Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords {are} in their lips: for who, {say they}, doth hear?

8Mas tu, Senhor, te rirás deles; zombarás de todos os gentios;

8But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

9Por causa da sua força eu te aguardarei; pois Deus é a minha alta defesa.

9{Because of} his strength will I wait upon thee: for God {is} my defence. {defence: Heb. high place}

10O Deus da minha misericórdia virá ao meu encontro; Deus me fará ver o meu desejo sobre os meus inimigos.

10The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see {my desire} upon mine enemies. {enemies: Heb. observers}

11Não os mates, para que o meu povo não se esqueça; espalha-os pelo teu poder, e abate-os, ó Senhor, nosso escudo.

11Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

12Pelo pecado da sua boca e pelas palavras dos seus lábios, fiquem presos na sua soberba, e pelas maldições e pelas mentiras que falam.

12{For} the sin of their mouth {and} the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying {which} they speak.

13Consome-os na tua indignação, consome-os, para que não existam, e para que saibam que Deus reina em Jacó até aos fins da terra. (Selá.)

13Consume {them} in wrath, consume {them}, that they {may} not {be}: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.

14E tornem a vir à tarde, e dêem ganidos como cães, e cerquem a cidade.

14And at evening let them return; {and} let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

15Vagueiem para cima e para baixo por mantimento, e passem a noite sem se saciarem.

15Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied. {for meat: Heb. to eat} {and grudge...: or, if they be not satisfied, then they will stay all night}

16Eu, porém, cantarei a tua força; pela manhã louvarei com alegria a tua misericórdia; porquanto tu foste o meu alto refúgio, e proteção no dia da minha angústia.

16But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

17A ti, ó fortaleza minha, cantarei salmos; porque Deus é a minha defesa e o Deus da minha misericórdia.

17Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God {is} my defence, {and} the God of my mercy.
