Salmos 56

1Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Deus, porque o homem procura devorar-me; pelejando todo dia, me oprime.

2Os meus inimigos procuram devorar-me todo dia; pois são muitos os que pelejam contra mim, ó Altíssimo.

2Mine enemies would daily swallow {me} up: for {they be} many that fight against me, O thou most High. {enemies: Heb. observers}

3Em qualquer tempo em que eu temer, confiarei em ti.

3What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

4Em Deus louvarei a sua palavra, em Deus pus a minha confiança; não temerei o que me possa fazer a carne.

4In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me.

5Todos os dias torcem as minhas palavras; todos os seus pensamentos são contra mim para o mal.

5Every day they wrest my words: all their thoughts {are} against me for evil.

6Ajuntam-se, escondem-se, marcam os meus passos, como aguardando a minha alma.

6They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.

7Porventura escaparão eles por meio da sua iniqüidade? Ó Deus, derruba os povos na tua ira!

7Shall they escape by iniquity? in {thine} anger cast down the people, O God.

8Tu contas as minhas vagueações; põe as minhas lágrimas no teu odre. Não estão elas no teu livro?

8Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: {are they} not in thy book?

9Quando eu a ti clamar, então voltarão para trás os meus inimigos: isto sei eu, porque Deus é por mim.

9When I cry {unto thee}, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God {is} for me.

10Em Deus louvarei a sua palavra; no Senhor louvarei a sua palavra.

10In God will I praise {his} word: in the LORD will I praise {his} word.

11Em Deus tenho posto a minha confiança; não temerei o que me possa fazer o homem.

11In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.

12Os teus votos estão sobre mim, ó Deus; eu te renderei ações de graças;

12Thy vows {are} upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.

13Pois tu livraste a minha alma da morte; não livrarás os meus pés da queda, para andar diante de Deus na luz dos viventes?

13For thou hast delivered my soul from death: {wilt} not {thou deliver} my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?
