Salmos 48

1Grande é o SENHOR e mui digno de louvor, na cidade do nosso Deus, no seu monte santo.

1A Song {and} Psalm for the sons of Korah.] Great {is} the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, {in} the mountain of his holiness. {for: or, of}

2Formoso de sítio, e alegria de toda a terra é o monte Sião sobre os lados do norte, a cidade do grande Rei.

2Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, {is} mount Zion, {on} the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

3Deus é conhecido nos seus palácios por um alto refúgio.

3God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

4Porque eis que os reis se ajuntaram; eles passaram juntos.

4For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

5Viram-no e ficaram maravilhados; ficaram assombrados e se apressaram em fugir.

5They saw {it, and} so they marvelled; they were troubled, {and} hasted away.

6Tremor ali os tomou, e dores como de mulher de parto.

6Fear took hold upon them there, {and} pain, as of a woman in travail.

7Tu quebras as naus de Társis com um vento oriental.

7Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

8Como o ouvimos, assim o vimos na cidade do Senhor dos Exércitos, na cidade do nosso Deus. Deus a confirmará para sempre. (Selá.)

8As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

9Lembramo-nos, ó Deus, da tua benignidade, no meio do teu templo.

9We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

10Segundo é o teu nome, ó Deus, assim é o teu louvor, até aos fins da terra; a tua mão direita está cheia de justiça.

10According to thy name, O God, so {is} thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

11Alegre-se o monte de Sião; alegrem-se as filhas de Judá por causa dos teus juízos.

11Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

12Rodeai Sião, e cercai-a, contai as suas torres.

12Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

13Marcai bem os seus antemuros, considerai os seus palácios, para que o conteis à geração seguinte.

13Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell {it} to the generation following. {Mark...: Heb. Set your heart to} {consider: or, raise up}

14Porque este Deus é o nosso Deus para sempre; ele será nosso guia até à morte.

14For this God {is} our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide {even} unto death.
