Salmos 38

1Ó Senhor, não me repreendas na tua ira, nem me castigues no teu furor.

1A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance.] O LORD, rebuke me not in thy wrath: neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.

2Porque as tuas flechas se cravaram em mim, e a tua mão sobre mim desceu.

2For thine arrows stick fast in me, and thy hand presseth me sore.

3Não há coisa sã na minha carne, por causa da tua cólera; nem há paz em meus ossos, por causa do meu pecado.

3{There is} no soundness in my flesh because of thine anger; neither {is there any} rest in my bones because of my sin. {rest: Heb. peace, or, health}

4Pois já as minhas iniqüidades ultrapassam a minha cabeça; como carga pesada são demais para as minhas forças.

4For mine iniquities are gone over mine head: as an heavy burden they are too heavy for me.

5As minhas chagas cheiram mal e estão corruptas, por causa da minha loucura.

5My wounds stink {and} are corrupt because of my foolishness.

6Estou encurvado, estou muito abatido, ando lamentando todo o dia.

6I am troubled; I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. {troubled: Heb. wried}

7Porque as minhas ilhargas estão cheias de ardor, e não há coisa sã na minha carne.

7For my loins are filled with a loathsome {disease}: and {there is} no soundness in my flesh.

8Estou fraco e mui quebrantado; tenho rugido pela inquietação do meu coração.

8I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.

9Senhor, diante de ti está todo o meu desejo, e o meu gemido não te é oculto.

9Lord, all my desire {is} before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.

10O meu coração dá voltas, a minha força me falta; quanto à luz dos meus olhos, ela me deixou.

10My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me. {is gone...: Heb. is not with me}

11Os meus amigos e os meus companheiros estão ao longe da minha chaga; e os meus parentes se põem à distância.

11My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off. {sore: Heb. stroke} {my kinsmen: or, my neighbours}

12Também os que buscam a minha vida me armam laços e os que procuram o meu mal falam coisas que danificam, e imaginam astúcias todo o dia.

12They also that seek after my life lay snares {for me}: and they that seek my hurt speak mischievous things, and imagine deceits all the day long.

13Mas eu, como surdo, não ouvia, e era como mudo, que não abre a boca.

13But I, as a deaf {man}, heard not; and {I was} as a dumb man {that} openeth not his mouth.

14Assim eu sou como homem que não ouve, e em cuja boca não há reprovação.

14Thus I was as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth {are} no reproofs.

15Porque em ti, Senhor, espero; tu, Senhor meu Deus, me ouvirás.

15For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God. {in...: or, thee do I wait for} {hear: or, answer}

16Porque dizia eu: Ouve-me, para que não se alegrem de mim. Quando escorrega o meu pé, eles se engrandecem contra mim.

16For I said, {Hear me}, lest {otherwise} they should rejoice over me: when my foot slippeth, they magnify {themselves} against me.

17Porque estou prestes a coxear; a minha dor está constantemente perante mim.

17For I {am} ready to halt, and my sorrow {is} continually before me. {to halt: Heb. for halting}

18Porque eu declararei a minha iniqüidade; afligir-me-ei por causa do meu pecado.

18For I will declare mine iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin.

19Mas os meus inimigos estão vivos e são fortes, e os que sem causa me odeiam se multiplicam.

19But mine enemies {are} lively, {and} they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied. {are lively...: Heb. being living, are strong}

20Os que dão mal pelo bem são meus adversários, porquanto eu sigo o que é bom.

20They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I follow {the thing that} good {is}.

21Não me desampares, Senhor, meu Deus, não te alongues de mim.

21Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.

22Apressa-te em meu auxílio, Senhor, minha salvação.

22Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation. {to...: Heb. for my help}
