Salmos 34

1Louvarei ao SENHOR em todo o tempo; o seu louvor estará continuamente na minha boca.

1{A Psalm} of David, when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed.] I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise {shall} continually {be} in my mouth. {Abimelech: or, Achish}

2A minha alma se gloriará no Senhor; os mansos o ouvirão e se alegrarão.

2My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear {thereof}, and be glad.

3Engrandecei ao Senhor comigo; e juntos exaltemos o seu nome.

3O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.

4Busquei ao Senhor, e ele me respondeu; livrou-me de todos os meus temores.

4I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

5Olharam para ele, e foram iluminados; e os seus rostos não ficaram confundidos.

5They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. {were lightened: or, they flowed unto him}

6Clamou este pobre, e o Senhor o ouviu, e o salvou de todas as suas angústias.

6This poor man cried, and the LORD heard {him}, and saved him out of all his troubles.

7O anjo do Senhor acampa-se ao redor dos que o temem, e os livra.

7The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8Provai, e vede que o Senhor é bom; bem-aventurado o homem que nele confia.

8O taste and see that the LORD {is} good: blessed {is} the man {that} trusteth in him.

9Temei ao Senhor, vós, os seus santos, pois nada falta aos que o temem.

9O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for {there is} no want to them that fear him.

10Os filhos dos leões necessitam e sofrem fome, mas àqueles que buscam ao Senhor bem nenhum faltará.

10The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good {thing}.

11Vinde, meninos, ouvi-me; eu vos ensinarei o temor do Senhor.

11Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

12Quem é o homem que deseja a vida, que quer largos dias para ver o bem?

12What man {is he that} desireth life, {and} loveth {many} days, that he may see good?

13Guarda a tua língua do mal, e os teus lábios de falarem o engano.

13Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14Aparta-te do mal, e faze o bem; procura a paz, e segue-a.

14Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15Os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os justos, e os seus ouvidos atentos ao seu clamor.

15The eyes of the LORD {are} upon the righteous, and his ears {are open} unto their cry.

16A face do Senhor está contra os que fazem o mal, para desarraigar da terra a memória deles.

16The face of the LORD {is} against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

17Os justos clamam, e o Senhor os ouve, e os livra de todas as suas angústias.

17{The righteous} cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

18Perto está o Senhor dos que têm o coração quebrantado, e salva os contritos de espírito.

18The LORD {is} nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. {unto...: Heb. to the broken of heart} {of a contrite...: Heb. contrite of spirit}

19Muitas são as aflições do justo, mas o Senhor o livra de todas.

19Many {are} the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

20Ele lhe guarda todos os seus ossos; nem sequer um deles se quebra.

20He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

21A malícia matará o ímpio, e os que odeiam o justo serão punidos.

21Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. {desolate: or, guilty}

22O Senhor resgata a alma dos seus servos, e nenhum dos que nele confiam será punido.

22The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. {desolate: or, guilty}
