Salmos 33

1Regozijai-vos no SENHOR, vós justos, pois aos retos convém o louvor.

1Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: {for} praise is comely for the upright.

2Louvai ao Senhor com harpa, cantai a ele com o saltério e um instrumento de dez cordas.

2Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery {and} an instrument of ten strings.

3Cantai-lhe um cântico novo; tocai bem e com júbilo.

3Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.

4Porque a palavra do Senhor é reta, e todas as suas obras são fiéis.

4For the word of the LORD {is} right; and all his works {are done} in truth.

5Ele ama a justiça e o juízo; a terra está cheia da bondade do Senhor.

5He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD. {goodness: or, mercy}

6Pela palavra do Senhor foram feitos os céus, e todo o exército deles pelo espírito da sua boca.

6By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

7Ele ajunta as águas do mar como num montão; põe os abismos em depósitos.

7He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

8Tema toda a terra ao Senhor; temam-no todos os moradores do mundo.

8Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

9Porque falou, e foi feito; mandou, e logo apareceu.

9For he spake, and it was {done}; he commanded, and it stood fast.

10O Senhor desfaz o conselho dos gentios, quebranta os intentos dos povos.

10The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. {bringeth: Heb. maketh frustrate}

11O conselho do Senhor permanece para sempre; os intentos do seu coração de geração em geração.

11The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. {to all...: Heb. to generation and generation}

12Bem-aventurada é a nação cujo Deus é o Senhor, e o povo ao qual escolheu para sua herança.

12Blessed {is} the nation whose God {is} the LORD; {and} the people {whom} he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

13O Senhor olha desde os céus e está vendo a todos os filhos dos homens.

13The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.

14Do lugar da sua habitação contempla todos os moradores da terra.

14From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.

15Ele é que forma o coração de todos eles, que contempla todas as suas obras.

15He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.

16Não há rei que se salve com a grandeza dum exército, nem o homem valente se livra pela muita força.

16There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.

17O cavalo é falaz para a segurança; não livra ninguém com a sua grande força.

17An horse {is} a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver {any} by his great strength.

18Eis que os olhos do Senhor estão sobre os que o temem, sobre os que esperam na sua misericórdia;

18Behold, the eye of the LORD {is} upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;

19Para lhes livrar as almas da morte, e para os conservar vivos na fome.

19To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.

20A nossa alma espera no Senhor; ele é o nosso auxílio e o nosso escudo.

20Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he {is} our help and our shield.

21Pois nele se alegra o nosso coração; porquanto temos confiado no seu santo nome.

21For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.

22Seja a tua misericórdia, Senhor, sobre nós, como em ti esperamos.

22Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
