Salmos 31

1Em ti, SENHOR, confio; nunca me deixes confundido. Livra-me pela tua justiça.

1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.

2Inclina para mim os teus ouvidos, livra-me depressa; sê a minha firme rocha, uma casa fortíssima que me salve.

2Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. {my...: Heb. to me for a rock of strength}

3Porque tu és a minha rocha e a minha fortaleza; assim, por amor do teu nome, guia-me e encaminha-me.

3For thou {art} my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.

4Tira-me da rede que para mim esconderam, pois tu és a minha força.

4Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou {art} my strength.

5Nas tuas mãos encomendo o meu espírito; tu me redimiste, Senhor Deus da verdade.

5Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

6Odeio aqueles que se entregam a vaidades enganosas; eu, porém, confio no Senhor.

6I have hated them that regard lying vanities: but I trust in the LORD.

7Eu me alegrarei e regozijarei na tua benignidade, pois consideraste a minha aflição; conheceste a minha alma nas angústias.

7I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

8E não me entregaste nas mãos do inimigo; puseste os meus pés num lugar espaçoso.

8And hast not shut me up into the hand of the enemy: thou hast set my feet in a large room.

9Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Senhor, porque estou angustiado. Consumidos estão de tristeza os meus olhos, a minha alma e o meu ventre.

9Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in trouble: mine eye is consumed with grief, {yea}, my soul and my belly.

10Porque a minha vida está gasta de tristeza, e os meus anos de suspiros; a minha força descai por causa da minha iniqüidade, e os meus ossos se consomem.

10For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity, and my bones are consumed.

11Fui opróbrio entre todos os meus inimigos, até entre os meus vizinhos, e horror para os meus conhecidos; os que me viam na rua fugiam de mim.

11I was a reproach among all mine enemies, but especially among my neighbours, and a fear to mine acquaintance: they that did see me without fled from me.

12Estou esquecido no coração deles, como um morto; sou como um vaso quebrado.

12I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind: I am like a broken vessel. {a broken...: Heb. a vessel that perisheth}

13Pois ouvi a murmuração de muitos, temor havia ao redor; enquanto juntamente consultavam contra mim, intentaram tirar-me a vida.

13For I have heard the slander of many: fear {was} on every side: while they took counsel together against me, they devised to take away my life.

14Mas eu confiei em ti, Senhor; e disse: Tu és o meu Deus.

14But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou {art} my God.

15Os meus tempos estão nas tuas mãos; livra-me das mãos dos meus inimigos e dos que me perseguem.

15My times {are} in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

16Faze resplandecer o teu rosto sobre o teu servo; salva-me por tuas misericórdias.

16Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies' sake.

17Não me deixes confundido, Senhor, porque te tenho invocado. Deixa confundidos os ímpios, e emudeçam na sepultura.

17Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the wicked be ashamed, {and} let them be silent in the grave. {silent...: or, cut off for}

18Emudeçam os lábios mentirosos que falam coisas más com soberba e desprezo contra o justo.

18Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. {grievous...: Heb. a hard thing}

19Oh! quão grande é a tua bondade, que guardaste para os que te temem, a qual operaste para aqueles que em ti confiam na presença dos filhos dos homens!

19{Oh} how great {is} thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; {which} thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

20Tu os esconderás, no secreto da tua presença, dos desaforos dos homens; encobri-los-ás em um pavilhão, da contenda das línguas.

20Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

21Bendito seja o Senhor, pois fez maravilhosa a sua misericórdia para comigo em cidade segura.

21Blessed {be} the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city. {strong: or, fenced}

22Pois eu dizia na minha pressa: Estou cortado de diante dos teus olhos; não obstante, tu ouviste a voz das minhas súplicas, quando eu a ti clamei.

22For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

23Amai ao Senhor, vós todos que sois seus santos; porque o Senhor guarda os fiéis e retribui com abundância ao que usa de soberba.

23O love the LORD, all ye his saints: {for} the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.

24Esforçai-vos, e ele fortalecerá o vosso coração, vós todos que esperais no Senhor.

24Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD.
