Salmos 2

1Por que se amotinam os gentios, e os povos imaginam coisas vàs?

1Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? {rage: or, tumultuously assemble} {imagine: Heb. meditate}

2Os reis da terra se levantam e os governos consultam juntamente contra o Senhor e contra o seu ungido, dizendo:

2The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, {saying},

3Rompamos as suas ataduras, e sacudamos de nós as suas cordas.

3Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.

4Aquele que habita nos céus se rirá; o Senhor zombará deles.

4He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

5Então lhes falará na sua ira, e no seu furor os turbará.

5Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. {vex: or, trouble}

6Eu, porém, ungi o meu Rei sobre o meu santo monte de Sião.

6Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. {set: Heb. anointed} {upon...: Heb. upon Zion, the hill of my holiness}

7Proclamarei o decreto: o Senhor me disse: Tu és meu Filho, eu hoje te gerei.

7I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou {art} my Son; this day have I begotten thee. {the decree: or, for a decree}

8Pede-me, e eu te darei os gentios por herança, e os fins da terra por tua possessão.

8Ask of me, and I shall give {thee} the heathen {for} thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth {for} thy possession.

9Tu os esmigalharás com uma vara de ferro; tu os despedaçarás como a um vaso de oleiro.

9Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

10Agora, pois, ó reis, sede prudentes; deixai-vos instruir, juízes da terra.

10Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.

11Servi ao Senhor com temor, e alegrai-vos com tremor.

11Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

12Beijai o Filho, para que se não ire, e pereçais no caminho, quando em breve se acender a sua ira; bem-aventurados todos aqueles que nele confiam.

12Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish {from} the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed {are} all they that put their trust in him.
