Salmos 147

1Louvai ao SENHOR, porque é bom cantar louvores ao nosso Deus, porque é agradável; decoroso é o louvor.

1Praise ye the LORD: for {it is} good to sing praises unto our God; for {it is} pleasant; {and} praise is comely.

2O Senhor edifica a Jerusalém, congrega os dispersos de Israel.

2The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

3Sara os quebrantados de coração, e lhes ata as suas feridas.

3He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. {wounds: Heb. griefs}

4Conta o número das estrelas, chama-as a todas pelos seus nomes.

4He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by {their} names.

5Grande é o nosso Senhor, e de grande poder; o seu entendimento é infinito.

5Great {is} our Lord, and of great power: his understanding {is} infinite. {his...: Heb. of his understanding there is no number}

6O Senhor eleva os humildes, e abate os ímpios até à terra.

6The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

7Cantai ao Senhor em ação de graças; cantai louvores ao nosso Deus sobre a harpa.

7Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

8Ele é o que cobre o céu de nuvens, o que prepara a chuva para a terra, e o que faz produzir erva sobre os montes;

8Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

9O que dá aos animais o seu sustento, e aos filhos dos corvos, quando clamam.

9He giveth to the beast his food, {and} to the young ravens which cry.

10Não se deleita na força do cavalo, nem se compraz nas pernas do homem.

10He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11O Senhor se agrada dos que o temem e dos que esperam na sua misericórdia.

11The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12Louva, ó Jerusalém, ao Senhor; louva, ó Sião, ao teu Deus.

12Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13Porque fortaleceu os ferrolhos das tuas portas; abençoa aos teus filhos dentro de ti.

13For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14Ele é o que põe em paz os teus termos, e da flor da farinha te farta.

14He maketh peace {in} thy borders, {and} filleth thee with the finest of the wheat. {He...: Heb. Who maketh thy border peace} {finest...: Heb. fat of wheat}

15O que envia o seu mandamento à terra; a sua palavra corre velozmente.

15He sendeth forth his commandment {upon} earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16O que dá a neve como lã; esparge a geada como cinza;

16He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17O que lança o seu gelo em pedaços; quem pode resistir ao seu frio?

17He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18Manda a sua palavra, e os faz derreter; faz soprar o vento, e correm as águas.

18He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, {and} the waters flow.

19Mostra a sua palavra a Jacó, os seus estatutos e os seus juízos a Israel.

19He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel. {his word: Heb. his words}

20Não fez assim a nenhuma outra nação; e quanto aos seus juízos, não os conhecem. Louvai ao Senhor.

20He hath not dealt so with any nation: and {as for his} judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
