Salmos 144

1Bendito seja o SENHOR, minha rocha, que ensina as minhas mãos para a peleja e os meus dedos para a guerra;

1{A Psalm} of David.] Blessed {be} the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, {and} my fingers to fight: {strength: Heb. rock} {to war...: Heb. to the war, etc}

2Benignidade minha e fortaleza minha; alto retiro meu e meu libertador és tu; escudo meu, em quem eu confio, e que me sujeita o meu povo.

2My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and {he} in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. {My goodness: or, My mercy}

3Senhor, que é o homem, para que o conheças, e o filho do homem, para que o estimes?

3LORD, what {is} man, that thou takest knowledge of him! {or} the son of man, that thou makest account of him!

4O homem é semelhante à vaidade; os seus dias são como a sombra que passa.

4Man is like to vanity: his days {are} as a shadow that passeth away.

5Abaixa, ó Senhor, os teus céus, e desce; toca os montes, e fumegarão.

5Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.

6Vibra os teus raios e dissipa-os; envia as tuas flechas, e desbarata-os.

6Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.

7Estende as tuas mãos desde o alto; livra-me, e arrebata-me das muitas águas e das mãos dos filhos estranhos,

7Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children; {hand from: Heb. hands from}

8Cuja boca fala vaidade, e a sua mão direita é a destra de falsidade.

8Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand {is} a right hand of falsehood.

9A ti, ó Deus, cantarei um cântico novo; com o saltério e instrumento de dez cordas te cantarei louvores;

9I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery {and} an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.

10A ti, que dás a salvação aos reis, e que livras a Davi, teu servo, da espada maligna.

10{It is he} that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword. {salvation: or, victory}

11Livra-me, e tira-me das mãos dos filhos estranhos, cuja boca fala vaidade, e a sua mão direita é a destra de iniqüidade,

11Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand {is} a right hand of falsehood:

12Para que nossos filhos sejam como plantas crescidas na sua mocidade; para que as nossas filhas sejam como pedras de esquina lavradas à moda de palácio;

12That our sons {may be} as plants grown up in their youth; {that} our daughters {may be} as corner stones, polished {after} the similitude of a palace: {polished: Heb. cut}

13Para que as nossas despensas se encham de todo provimento; para que os nossos rebanhos produzam a milhares e a dezenas de milhares nas nossas ruas.

13{That} our garners {may be} full, affording all manner of store: {that} our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets: {all...: Heb. from kind to kind}

14Para que os nossos bois sejam fortes para o trabalho; para que não haja nem assaltos, nem saídas, nem gritos nas nossas ruas.

14{That} our oxen {may be} strong to labour; {that there be} no breaking in, nor going out; that {there be} no complaining in our streets. {strong...: Heb. able to bear burdens, or, loaden with flesh}

15Bem-aventurado o povo ao qual assim acontece; bem-aventurado é o povo cujo Deus é o Senhor.

15Happy {is that} people, that is in such a case: {yea}, happy {is that} people, whose God {is} the LORD.
