1Livra-me, ó SENHOR, do homem mau; guarda-me do homem violento,

1To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.] Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man; {violent...: Heb. man of violences}

2Que pensa o mal no coração; continuamente se ajuntam para a guerra.

2Which imagine mischiefs in {their} heart; continually are they gathered together {for} war.

3Aguçaram as línguas como a serpente; o veneno das víboras está debaixo dos seus lábios. (Selá.)

3They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders' poison {is} under their lips. Selah.

4Guarda-me, ó Senhor, das mãos do ímpio; guarda-me do homem violento; os quais se propuseram transtornar os meus passos.

4Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

5Os soberbos armaram-me laços e cordas; estenderam a rede ao lado do caminho; armaram-me laços corrediços. (Selá.)

5The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

6Eu disse ao Senhor: Tu és o meu Deus; ouve a voz das minhas súplicas, ó Senhor.

6I said unto the LORD, Thou {art} my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD.

7Ó Deus o Senhor, fortaleza da minha salvação, tu cobriste a minha cabeça no dia da batalha.

7O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

8Não concedas, ó Senhor, ao ímpio os seus desejos; não promovas o seu mau propósito, para que não se exalte. (Selá.)

8Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; {lest} they exalt themselves. Selah. {lest...: or, let them not be exalted}

9Quanto à cabeça dos que me cercam, cubra-os a maldade dos seus lábios.

9{As for} the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10Caiam sobre eles brasas vivas; sejam lançados no fogo, em covas profundas, para que se não tornem a levantar.

10Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

11Não terá firmeza na terra o homem de má língua; o mal perseguirá o homem violento até que seja desterrado.

11Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow {him}. {an...: or, an evil speaker (Heb. a man of tongue), a wicked man of violence, be established in the earth: let him be hunted to his overthrow}

12Sei que o Senhor sustentará a causa do oprimido, e o direito do necessitado.

12I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, {and} the right of the poor.

13Assim os justos louvarão o teu nome; os retos habitarão na tua presença.

13Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.
