1Na minha angústia clamei ao SENHOR, e me ouviu.

1A Song of degrees.] In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.

2Senhor, livra a minha alma dos lábios mentirosos e da língua enganadora.

2Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, {and} from a deceitful tongue.

3Que te será dado, ou que te será acrescentado, língua enganadora?

3What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue? {What shall be given...: or, What shall the deceitful tongue give unto thee? or, what shall it profit thee?} {done: Heb. added}

4Flechas agudas do poderoso, com brasas vivas de zimbro.

5Ai de mim, que peregrino em Meseque, e habito nas tendas de Quedar.

5Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, {that} I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

6A minha alma bastante tempo habitou com os que detestam a paz.

6My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.

7Pacífico sou, mas quando eu falo já eles procuram a guerra.
