Salmos 12

1Salva-nos, SENHOR, porque faltam os homens bons; porque são poucos os fiéis entre os filhos dos homens.

2Cada um fala com falsidade ao seu próximo; falam com lábios lisonjeiros e coração dobrado.

2They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: {with} flattering lips {and} with a double heart do they speak. {a double...: Heb. an heart and an heart}

3O Senhor cortará todos os lábios lisonjeiros e a língua que fala soberbamente.

3The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, {and} the tongue that speaketh proud things: {proud: Heb. great}

4Pois dizem: Com a nossa língua prevaleceremos; são nossos os lábios; quem é senhor sobre nós?

4Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips {are} our own: who {is} lord over us? {are...: Heb. are with us}

5Pela opressão dos pobres, pelo gemido dos necessitados me levantarei agora, diz o Senhor; porei a salvo aquele para quem eles assopram.

5For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set {him} in safety {from him that} puffeth at him. {puffeth...: or, would ensnare him}

6As palavras do Senhor são palavras puras, como prata refinada em fornalha de barro, purificada sete vezes.

6The words of the LORD {are} pure words: {as} silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7Tu os guardarás, Senhor; desta geração os livrarás para sempre.

7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. {them from: Heb. him, etc: that is, every one of them, etc}

8Os ímpios andam por toda parte, quando os mais vis dos filhos dos homens são exaltados.

8The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted. {men: Heb. of the sons of the men}
