Salmos de Salomão 17

1Senhor, tu mesmo és o nosso Deus para sempre, pois em ti, ó Deus, nossa alma se gloria.

1Lord, you yourself are our God forever, for in you, O God, our soul glories.

2Nós confiamos no nosso Deus Salvador, pois a força de nosso Deus é eterna com misericórdia.

2We trust in our God Savior, for the strength of our God is eternal with mercy.

3Senhor, tu escolheste Davi rei sobre Israel, e prometeste-lhe acerca de sua descendência para sempre.

3Lord, you chose David king over Israel, and promised him concerning his seed forever.

4Veja, Senhor, e levanta-lhes o rei deles, filho de Davi, para reinar sobre Israel.

4See, Lord, and raise up for them their king, son of David, to reign over Israel.

5Guarneceste-o com o poder para destruir os governantes injustos, para purificar Jerusalém.

5You equipped him with power to destroy unrighteous rulers, to cleanse Jerusalem.

6Para expulsar com sabedoria e justiça os pecadores da herança.

6To drive out with wisdom and righteousness the sinners from the inheritance.

7Para quebrar com vara de ferro toda a substância deles; para destruir as nações ímpias com a palavra de sua boca.

7To shatter with rod of iron all their substance; to destroy the ungodly nations with the word of his mouth.

8E ele ajuntará um povo santo, a quem dirigirá em justiça.

8And he shall gather a holy people, whom he shall direct in righteousness.

9Ele será um rei justo sobre eles, instruído por Deus.

9He shall be a righteous king over them, instructed by God.

10O próprio Senhor é o seu rei, a esperança do forte.

10The Lord himself is his king, the hope of the strong.

11Bem-aventurados são os que nascerem naqueles dias.

11Blessed are those who shall be born in those days.

12Que Deus apresse a sua misericórdia sobre Israel.

12May God hasten his mercy upon Israel.

13O próprio Senhor é o nosso Deus para sempre.

13The Lord himself is our God forever.
