Romanos 6

1Que diremos pois? Permaneceremos no pecado, para que a graça abunde?

1What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2De modo nenhum. Nós, que estamos mortos para o pecado, como viveremos ainda nele?

2God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

3Ou não sabeis que todos quantos fomos batizados em Jesus Cristo fomos batizados na sua morte?

3Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? {were: or, are}

4De sorte que fomos sepultados com ele pelo batismo na morte; para que, como Cristo foi ressuscitado dentre os mortos, pela glória do Pai, assim andemos nós também em novidade de vida.

4Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

5Porque, se fomos plantados juntamente com ele na semelhança da sua morte, também o seremos na da sua ressurreição;

5For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also {in the likeness} of {his} resurrection:

6Sabendo isto, que o nosso homem velho foi com ele crucificado, para que o corpo do pecado seja desfeito, para que não sirvamos mais ao pecado.

6Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with {him}, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

7Porque aquele que está morto está justificado do pecado.

7For he that is dead is freed from sin. {freed: Gr. justified}

8Ora, se já morremos com Cristo, cremos que também com ele viveremos;

8Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

9Sabendo que, tendo sido Cristo ressuscitado dentre os mortos, já não morre; a morte não mais tem domínio sobre ele.

9Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

10Pois, quanto a ter morrido, de uma vez morreu para o pecado; mas, quanto a viver, vive para Deus.

10For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

11Assim também vós considerai-vos certamente mortos para o pecado, mas vivos para Deus em Cristo Jesus nosso Senhor.

11Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

12Não reine, portanto, o pecado em vosso corpo mortal, para lhe obedecerdes em suas concupiscências;

12Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

13Nem tampouco apresenteis os vossos membros ao pecado por instrumentos de iniqüidade; mas apresentai-vos a Deus, como vivos dentre mortos, e os vossos membros a Deus, como instrumentos de justiça.

13Neither yield ye your members {as} instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members {as} instruments of righteousness unto God. {instruments: Gr. arms, or, weapons}

14Porque o pecado não terá domínio sobre vós, pois não estais debaixo da lei, mas debaixo da graça.

14For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

15Pois que? Pecaremos porque não estamos debaixo da lei, mas debaixo da graça? De modo nenhum.

15What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

16Não sabeis vós que a quem vos apresentardes por servos para lhe obedecer, sois servos daquele a quem obedeceis, ou do pecado para a morte, ou da obediência para a justiça?

16Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

17Mas graças a Deus que, tendo sido servos do pecado, obedecestes de coração à forma de doutrina a que fostes entregues.

17But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. {which...: Gr. whereto ye were delivered}

18E, libertados do pecado, fostes feitos servos da justiça.

18Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

19Falo como homem, pela fraqueza da vossa carne; pois que, assim como apresentastes os vossos membros para servirem à imundícia, e à maldade para maldade, assim apresentai agora os vossos membros para servirem à justiça para santificação.

19I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

20Porque, quando éreis servos do pecado, estáveis livres da justiça.

20For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness. {from...: Gr. to righteousness}

21E que fruto tínheis então das coisas de que agora vos envergonhais? Porque o fim delas é a morte.

21What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things {is} death.

22Mas agora, libertados do pecado, e feitos servos de Deus, tendes o vosso fruto para santificação, e por fim a vida eterna.

22But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

23Porque o salário do pecado é a morte, mas o dom gratuito de Deus é a vida eterna, por Cristo Jesus nosso Senhor.

23For the wages of sin {is} death; but the gift of God {is} eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
