Romanos 14

1Ora, quanto ao que está enfermo na fé, recebei-o, não em contendas sobre dúvidas.

1Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, {but} not to doubtful disputations. {not...: or, not to judge his doubtful thoughts}

2Porque um crê que de tudo se pode comer, e outro, que é fraco, come legumes.

2For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.

3O que come não despreze o que não come; e o que não come, não julgue o que come; porque Deus o recebeu por seu.

3Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.

4Quem és tu, que julgas o servo alheio? Para seu próprio senhor ele está em pé ou cai. Mas estará firme, porque poderoso é Deus para o firmar.

4Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.

5Um faz diferença entre dia e dia, mas outro julga iguais todos os dias. Cada um esteja inteiramente seguro em sua própria mente.

5One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day {alike}. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. {fully persuaded: or, fully assured}

6Aquele que faz caso do dia, para o Senhor o faz e o que não faz caso do dia para o Senhor o não faz. O que come, para o Senhor come, porque dá graças a Deus; e o que não come, para o Senhor não come, e dá graças a Deus.

6He that regardeth the day, regardeth {it} unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard {it}. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. {regardeth: or, observeth}

7Porque nenhum de nós vive para si, e nenhum morre para si.

7For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.

8Porque, se vivemos, para o Senhor vivemos; se morremos, para o Senhor morremos. De sorte que, ou vivamos ou morramos, somos do Senhor.

8For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

9Porque foi para isto que morreu Cristo, e ressurgiu, e tornou a viver, para ser Senhor, tanto dos mortos, como dos vivos.

9For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.

10Mas tu, por que julgas teu irmão? Ou tu, também, por que desprezas teu irmão? Pois todos havemos de comparecer ante o tribunal de Cristo.

10But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

11Porque está escrito:Como eu vivo, diz o Senhor, que todo o joelho se dobrará a mim,E toda a língua confessará a Deus.

11For it is written, {As} I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

12De maneira que cada um de nós dará conta de si mesmo a Deus.

12So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.

13Assim que não nos julguemos mais uns aos outros; antes seja o vosso propósito não pôr tropeço ou escândalo ao irmão.

13Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in {his} brother's way.

14Eu sei, e estou certo no Senhor Jesus, que nenhuma coisa é de si mesma imunda, a não ser para aquele que a tem por imunda; para esse é imunda.

14I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that {there is} nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him {it is} unclean. {unclean: Gr. common}

15Mas, se por causa da comida se contrista teu irmão, já não andas conforme o amor. Não destruas por causa da tua comida aquele por quem Cristo morreu.

15But if thy brother be grieved with {thy} meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. {charitably: Gr. according to charity}

16Não seja, pois, blasfemado o vosso bem;

16Let not then your good be evil spoken of:

17Porque o reino de Deus não é comida nem bebida, mas justiça, e paz, e alegria no Espírito Santo.

17For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

18Porque quem nisto serve a Cristo agradável é a Deus e aceito aos homens.

18For he that in these things serveth Christ {is} acceptable to God, and approved of men.

19Sigamos, pois, as coisas que servem para a paz e para a edificação de uns para com os outros.

19Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.

20Não destruas por causa da comida a obra de Deus. É verdade que tudo é limpo, mas mal vai para o homem que come com escândalo.

20For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed {are} pure; but {it is} evil for that man who eateth with offence.

21Bom é não comer carne, nem beber vinho, nem fazer outras coisas em que teu irmão tropece, ou se escandalize, ou se enfraqueça.

21{It is} good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor {any thing} whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

22Tens tu fé? Tem-na em ti mesmo diante de Deus. Bem-aventurado aquele que não se condena a si mesmo naquilo que aprova.

22Hast thou faith? have {it} to thyself before God. Happy {is} he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

23Mas aquele que tem dúvidas, se come está condenado, porque não come por fé; e tudo o que não é de fé é pecado.

23And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because {he eateth} not of faith: for whatsoever {is} not of faith is sin. {doubteth: or, discerneth and putteth a difference between meats} {damned: or, condemned, or liable to punishment}
