1Depois disso vivi trinta e seis anos e comuniquei o modo de vida dos bem-aventurados aos pais no deserto.

1After this I lived thirty-six years, and communicated the way of life of the blessed to the fathers in the desert.

2Mas o Diabo chorou por causa das mesas da vida dos bem-aventurados, dizendo: Se isto se espalhar pelo mundo, serei ridicularizado, e estes permanecerão sem pecado e eu sozinho na loucura.

2But the Devil wept because of the tables of the life of the blessed, saying, If this get abroad in the world, I shall be mocked, and these will remain without sin and I alone in folly.

3E depois de completados os trinta e seis anos, os anjos de Deus vieram a mim como aos bem-aventurados. E todos os monges e todos os que ouviram se reuniram, e este testamento foi lido para todos eles, e em tal vida ele entregou sua alma a Deus.

3And after the completion of the thirty-six years, the angels of God came to me as to the blessed. And all the monks were gathered together and all who heard it, and this testament was read to all of them, and in such life he gave up his soul to God.
