1Chapter.

2Depois destas coisas, José e Maria partiram dali com Jesus para a cidade de Nazaré; e Ele permaneceu lá com Seus pais.

2After these things, Joseph and Mary departed thence with Jesus into the city of Nazareth; and He remained there with His parents.

3E no primeiro dia da semana, quando Jesus brincava com as crianças no telhado de uma certa casa, aconteceu que uma das crianças empurrou outra do telhado para o chão, e ela foi morta.

3And on the first of the week, when Jesus was playing with the children on the roof of a certain house, it happened that one of the children pushed another down from the roof to the ground, and he was killed.

4E os pais do menino morto, que não tinham visto isso, clamaram contra José e Maria, dizendo: Seu filho jogou o nosso filho no chão, e ele morreu.

4And the parents of the dead boy, who had not seen this, cried out against Joseph and Mary, saying: Your son has thrown our son down to the ground, and he is dead.

5Mas Jesus ficou em silêncio e nada lhes respondeu.

5But Jesus was silent, and answered them nothing.

6E José e Maria foram apressadamente a Jesus; e sua mãe perguntou-lhe, dizendo: Meu senhor, diga-me se você o derrubou.

6And Joseph and Mary came in haste to Jesus; and His mother asked Him, saying: My lord, tell me if thou didst throw him down.

7E imediatamente Jesus desceu do telhado ao chão, e chamou o menino pelo seu nome, Zenão.

7And immediately Jesus went down from the roof to the ground, and called the boy by his name, Zeno.

8E ele lhe respondeu: Meu senhor.

8And he answered Him: My lord.

9E Jesus lhe disse: Fui eu que te joguei do telhado à terra? E ele disse: Não, meu senhor.

9And Jesus said to him: Was it I that threw thee down from the roof to the ground? And he said: No, my lord.

10E os pais do menino que havia morrido ficaram maravilhados e honraram Jesus pelo milagre que havia sido realizado.

10And the parents of the boy who had been dead wondered, and honoured Jesus for the miracle that had been wrought.

11E José e Maria partiram dali com Jesus para Jericó.

11And Joseph and Mary departed thence with Jesus to Jericho.
