1Chapter.

2E no terceiro dia após o nascimento de Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, Maria Santíssima saiu da caverna e, entrando num estábulo, colocou a criança no estábulo, e o boi e o burro o adoraram.

2And on the third day after the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, the most blessed Mary went forth out of the cave, and entering a stable, placed the child in the stall, and the ox and the ass adored Him.

3Então se cumpriu o que foi dito pelo profeta Isaías, que diz: O boi conhece o seu possuidor, e o jumento a manjedoura do seu dono.

3Then was fulfilled that which was said by Isaiah the prophet, saying: The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib.

4Os próprios animais, portanto, o boi e o jumento, tendo-O em seu meio, O adoravam incessantemente.

4The very animals, therefore, the ox and the ass, having Him in their midst, incessantly adored Him.

5Então se cumpriu o que foi dito pelo profeta Abacuc, dizendo: Entre dois animais tu és manifestado.

5Then was fulfilled that which was said by Abacuc the prophet, saying: Between two animals thou art made manifest.

6No mesmo lugar, José permaneceu com Maria três dias.

6In the same place Joseph remained with Mary three days.
