Evangelho do Pseudo-Mateus 12

1Capítulo.

1Chapter.

2E quando ele pensava em levantar-se e esconder-se, e habitar em segredo, eis que naquela mesma noite, o anjo do Senhor lhe apareceu durante o sono, dizendo: José, filho de Davi, não temas; recebe Maria como tua esposa; porque o que está no seu ventre é do Espírito Santo.

2And when he was thinking of rising up and hiding himself, and dwelling in secret, behold, on that very night, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in sleep, saying: Joseph, thou son of David, fear not; receive Mary as thy wife: for that which is in her womb is of the Holy Spirit.

3E ela dará à luz um filho, e Seu nome será chamado Jesus, porque Ele salvará Seu povo dos seus pecados.

3And she shall bring forth a son, and His name shall be called Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.

4E José, levantando-se do sono, deu graças a Deus, e falou a Maria e às virgens que estavam com ela, e contou-lhes a sua visão.

4And Joseph, rising from his sleep, gave thanks to God, and spoke to Mary and the virgins who were with her, and told them his vision.

5E ele foi consolado por Maria, dizendo: Pequei, porque suspeitei de ti.

5And he was comforted about Mary, saying: I have sinned, in that I suspected thee at all.
