Provérbios 15

1A resposta branda desvia o furor, mas a palavra dura suscita a ira.

1A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

2A língua dos sábios adorna a sabedoria, mas a boca dos tolos derrama a estultícia.

2The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness. {poureth: Heb. belcheth, or, bubbleth}

3Os olhos do Senhor estão em todo lugar, contemplando os maus e os bons.

3The eyes of the LORD {are} in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

4A língua benigna é árvore de vida, mas a perversidade nela deprime o espírito.

4A wholesome tongue {is} a tree of life: but perverseness therein {is} a breach in the spirit. {A wholesome...: Heb. The healing of the tongue}

5O tolo despreza a instrução de seu pai, mas o que observa a repreensão se haverá prudentemente.

5A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

6Na casa do justo há um grande tesouro, mas nos ganhos do ímpio há perturbação.

6In the house of the righteous {is} much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

7Os lábios dos sábios derramam o conhecimento, mas o coração dos tolos não faz assim.

7The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish {doeth} not so.

8O sacrifício dos ímpios é abominável ao Senhor, mas a oração dos retos é o seu contentamento.

8The sacrifice of the wicked {is} an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright {is} his delight.

9O caminho do ímpio é abominável ao Senhor, mas ao que segue a justiça ele ama.

9The way of the wicked {is} an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

10Correção severa há para o que deixa a vereda, e o que odeia a repreensão morrerá.

10Correction {is} grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: {and} he that hateth reproof shall die. {Correction: or, Instruction}

11O inferno e a perdição estão perante o Senhor; quanto mais os corações dos filhos dos homens?

11Hell and destruction {are} before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

12O escarnecedor não ama aquele que o repreende, nem se chegará aos sábios.

12A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.

13O coração alegre aformoseia o rosto, mas pela dor do coração o espírito se abate.

13A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.

14O coração entendido buscará o conhecimento, mas a boca dos tolos se apascentará de estultícia.

14The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.

15Todos os dias do oprimido são maus, mas o coração alegre é um banquete contínuo.

15All the days of the afflicted {are} evil: but he that is of a merry heart {hath} a continual feast.

16Melhor é o pouco com o temor do Senhor, do que um grande tesouro onde há inquietação.

16Better {is} little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

17Melhor é a comida de hortaliça, onde há amor, do que o boi cevado, e com ele o ódio.

17Better {is} a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.

18O homem iracundo suscita contendas, mas o longânimo apaziguará a luta.

18A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but {he that is} slow to anger appeaseth strife.

19O caminho do preguiçoso é cercado de espinhos, mas a vereda dos retos é bem aplanada.

19The way of the slothful {man is} as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous {is} made plain. {is made...: Heb. is raised up as a causey}

20O filho sábio alegra seu pai, mas o homem insensato despreza a sua mãe.

20A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

21A estultícia é alegria para o que carece de entendimento, mas o homem entendido anda retamente.

21Folly {is} joy to {him that is} destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly. {destitute...: Heb. void of heart}

22Quando não há conselhos os planos se dispersam, mas havendo muitos conselheiros eles se firmam.

22Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.

23O homem se alegra em responder bem, e quão boa é a palavra dita a seu tempo!

23A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word {spoken} in due season, how good {is it}! {due...: Heb. his season}

24Para o entendido, o caminho da vida leva para cima, para que se desvie do inferno em baixo.

24The way of life {is} above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.

25O Senhor desarraiga a casa dos soberbos, mas estabelece o termo da viúva.

25The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

26Abomináveis são para o Senhor os pensamentos do mau, mas as palavras dos puros são aprazíveis.

26The thoughts of the wicked {are} an abomination to the LORD: but {the words} of the pure {are} pleasant words. {pleasant...: Heb. words of pleasantness}

27O que agir com avareza perturba a sua casa, mas o que odeia presentes viverá.

27He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.

28O coração do justo medita no que há de responder, mas a boca dos ímpios jorra coisas más.

28The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.

29O Senhor está longe dos ímpios, mas a oração dos justos escutará.

29The LORD {is} far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.

30A luz dos olhos alegra o coração, a boa notícia fortalece os ossos.

30The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: {and} a good report maketh the bones fat.

31Os ouvidos que atendem à repreensão da vida farão a sua morada no meio dos sábios.

31The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.

32O que rejeita a instrução menospreza a própria alma, mas o que escuta a repreensão adquire entendimento.

32He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding. {instruction: or, correction} {heareth: or, obeyeth} {getteth...: Heb. possesseth an heart}

33O temor do Senhor é a instrução da sabedoria, e precedendo a honra vai a humildade.

33The fear of the LORD {is} the instruction of wisdom; and before honour {is} humility.
