Provérbios 11

1Balança enganosa é abominação para o SENHOR, mas o peso justo é o seu prazer.

1A false balance {is} abomination to the LORD: but a just weight {is} his delight. {A false...: Heb. Balances of deceit} {just...: Heb. perfect stone}

2Em vindo a soberba, virá também a afronta; mas com os humildes está a sabedoria.

2{When} pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly {is} wisdom.

3A sinceridade dos íntegros os guiará, mas a perversidade dos aleivosos os destruirá.

3The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

4De nada aproveitam as riquezas no dia da ira, mas a justiça livra da morte.

4Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

5A justiça do sincero endireitará o seu caminho, mas o perverso pela sua falsidade cairá.

5The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness. {direct: Heb. rectify}

6A justiça dos virtuosos os livrará, mas na sua perversidade serão apanhados os iníquos.

6The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in {their own} naughtiness.

7Morrendo o homem perverso perece sua esperança, e acaba-se a expectação de riquezas.

7When a wicked man dieth, {his} expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust {men} perisheth.

8O justo é libertado da angústia, e vem o ímpio para o seu lugar.

8The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

9O hipócrita com a boca destrói o seu próximo, mas os justos se libertam pelo conhecimento.

9An hypocrite with {his} mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

10No bem dos justos exulta a cidade; e perecendo os ímpios, há júbilo.

10When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, {there is} shouting.

11Pela bênção dos homens de bem a cidade se exalta, mas pela boca dos perversos é derrubada.

11By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12O que despreza o seu próximo carece de entendimento, mas o homem entendido se mantém calado.

12He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace. {void...: Heb. destitute of heart}

13O mexeriqueiro revela o segredo, mas o fiel de espírito o mantém em oculto.

13A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter. {A talebearer: Heb. He that walketh, being a talebearer}

14Não havendo sábios conselhos, o povo cai, mas na multidão de conselhos há segurança.

14Where no counsel {is}, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors {there is} safety.

15Decerto sofrerá severamente aquele que fica por fiador do estranho, mas o que evita a fiança estará seguro.

15He that is surety for a stranger shall smart {for it}: and he that hateth suretiship is sure. {smart: Heb. be sore broken} {suretiship: Heb. those that strike hands}

16A mulher graciosa guarda a honra como os violentos guardam as riquezas.

16A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong {men} retain riches.

17O homem bom cuida bem de si mesmo, mas o cruel prejudica o seu corpo.

17The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but {he that is} cruel troubleth his own flesh.

18O ímpio faz obra falsa, mas para o que semeia justiça haverá galardão fiel.

18The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness {shall be} a sure reward.

19Como a justiça encaminha para a vida, assim o que segue o mal vai para a sua morte.

19As righteousness {tendeth} to life: so he that pursueth evil {pursueth it} to his own death.

20Abominação ao Senhor são os perversos de coração, mas os de caminho sincero são o seu deleite.

20They that are of a froward heart {are} abomination to the LORD: but {such as are} upright in {their} way {are} his delight.

21Ainda que junte as mãos, o mau não ficará impune, mas a semente dos justos será liberada.

21{Though} hand {join} in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

22Como jóia de ouro no focinho de uma porca, assim é a mulher formosa que não tem discrição.

22{As} a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, {so is} a fair woman which is without discretion. {is without: Heb. departeth from}

23O desejo dos justos é tão somente para o bem, mas a esperança dos ímpios é criar contrariedades.

23The desire of the righteous {is} only good: {but} the expectation of the wicked {is} wrath.

24Ao que distribui mais se lhe acrescenta, e ao que retém mais do que é justo, é para a sua perda.

24There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and {there is} that withholdeth more than is meet, but {it tendeth} to poverty.

25A alma generosa prosperará e aquele que atende também será atendido.

25The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. {liberal...: Heb. soul of blessing}

26Ao que retém o trigo o povo amaldiçoa, mas bênção haverá sobre a cabeça do que o vende.

26He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing {shall be} upon the head of him that selleth {it}.

27O que cedo busca o bem, busca favor, mas o que procura o mal, esse lhe sobrevirá.

27He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

28Aquele que confia nas suas riquezas cairá, mas os justos reverdecerão como a folhagem.

28He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

29O que perturba a sua casa herdará o vento, e o tolo será servo do sábio de coração.

29He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool {shall be} servant to the wise of heart.

30O fruto do justo é árvore de vida, e o que ganha almas é sábio.

30The fruit of the righteous {is} a tree of life; and he that winneth souls {is} wise. {winneth: Heb. taketh}

31Eis que o justo recebe na terra a retribuição; quanto mais o ímpio e o pecador!

31Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
