1Capítulo 9 - Paciência inculcada.

1Chapter 9 — Patience inculcated.

2Exorto-vos a todos, portanto, a obedecerem à palavra da justiça e a exercerem toda a paciência, tal como vistes diante de vossos olhos, não apenas no caso do bem-aventurado Inácio, e Zózimo, e Rufo, mas também em outros entre vós, e no próprio Paulo, e no resto dos apóstolos.

2I exhort you all, therefore, to yield obedience to the word of righteousness, and to exercise all patience, such as ye have seen set before your eyes, not only in the case of the blessed Ignatius, and Zosimus, and Rufus, but also in others among yourselves, and in Paul himself, and the rest of the apostles.

3Faça isso com a certeza de que todos estes não correram em vão, mas com fé e justiça, e que agora estão em seu devido lugar na presença do Senhor, com quem também sofreram.

3This do in the assurance that all these have not run in vain, but in faith and righteousness, and that they are now in their due place in the presence of the Lord, with whom also they suffered.

4Porque eles não amaram este mundo presente, mas Aquele que morreu por nós e por nossa causa foi ressuscitado dentre os mortos por Deus.

4For they loved not this present world, but Him who died for us, and for our sakes was raised again by God from the dead.
