Pistis Sophia 23

1E Jesus respondeu e disse a Filipe e a todos os discípulos juntamente: "Mudei os seus cursos para a salvação de todas as almas. Em verdade, em verdade vos digo: Se eu não tivesse mudado as suas veredas, uma multidão de almas teria sido destruída, e teriam passado longo tempo antes que os arcontes dos éons e os arcontes do Destino e da esfera fossem reduzidos a nada; e as almas teriam demorado muito tempo aqui fora, e o cumprimento do número das almas perfeitas teria sido retardado, as quais serão contadas na Herança das alturas por meio dos mistérios e habitarão no Tesouro da Luz.

1And Jesus answered and said unto Philip and to all the disciples together: "I have changed their courses for the salvation of all souls. Amen, amen, I say unto you: If I had not changed their courses, a host of souls would have been destroyed, and they would have spent a long time, if the rulers of the aeons and the rulers of the Fate and of the sphere had not been brought to naught; and the souls would have spent a long time here outside, and the completion of the number of perfect souls would have been delayed, which [souls] shall be reckoned in the Inheritance of the height through the mysteries and shall be in the Treasury of the Light.

2"Por esta causa, pois, mudei os seus caminhos, a fim de que se confundissem e caíssem em agitação, e entregassem o poder que está na matéria do seu mundo, a qual transformam em almas, para que aqueles que hão de ser salvos possam ser purificados depressa e elevados às alturas, eles e todo o poder, e para que aqueles que não forem salvos sejam rapidamente destruídos."

2"For this cause then I have changed their paths, that they might be confounded and fall into agitation, and surrender the power which is in the matter of their world, which they fashion into souls, in order that those who shall be saved, might be quickly purified and raised on high, they and the whole power, and that those who shall not be saved, might be quickly destroyed."

3E sucedeu que, tendo Filipe ouvido estas palavras, assentou-se e continuou a escrever.

3It came to pass then, when Philip had heard these words, that he sat down and continued writing.
