1O livro da genealogia de Jesus, o Messias, filho de Davi, filho de Abraão.

1The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

2Abraão gerou a Isaque, Isaque gerou a Jacó, Jacó gerou a Judá e seus irmãos.

2Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;

3Judá gerou a Perez e a Zera de Tamar, Perez gerou a Esrom, Esrom gerou a Arão.

3And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;

4Arão gerou a Aminadabe, Aminadabe gerou a Naasson, Naasson gerou a Salmom.

4And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;

5Salmom gerou a Boaz de Raabe, Boaz gerou a Obede de Rute, Obede gerou a Jessé.

5And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;

6Jessé gerou ao rei Davi, o rei Davi gerou a Salomão daquela que fora mulher de Urias.

6And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;

7Salomão gerou a Roboão, Roboão gerou a Abias, Abias gerou a Asa.

7And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa;

8Asa gerou a Josafá, Josafá gerou a Jorão, Jorão gerou a Uzias.

8And Asa begat Josaphat; and Josaphat begat Joram; and Joram begat Ozias;

9Uzias gerou a Jotão, Jotão gerou a Acaz, Acaz gerou a Ezequias.

9And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;

10Ezequias gerou a Manassés, Manassés gerou a Amom, Amom gerou a Josias.

10And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;

11Josias gerou a Jeconias e a seus irmãos, perto do tempo do exílio na Babilônia.

11And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:

12E depois do exílio na Babilônia, Jeconias gerou a Salatiel, Salatiel gerou a Zorobabel.

12And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;

13Zorobabel gerou a Abiúde, Abiúde gerou a Eliaquim, Eliaquim gerou a Azor.

13And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

14Azor gerou a Sadoque, Sadoque gerou a Aquim, Aquim gerou a Eliúde.

14And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;

15Eliúde gerou a Eleazar, Eleazar gerou a Matã, Matã gerou a Jacó.

15And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;

16Jacó gerou a José, o marido de Maria, da qual nasceu Jesus, que é chamado o Messias.

16And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

17De sorte que todas as gerações, desde Abraão até Davi, são catorze gerações; e desde Davi até o exílio na Babilônia, catorze gerações; e desde o exílio na Babilônia até o Messias, catorze gerações.

17So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

18Ora, o nascimento de Jesus, o Messias, foi assim: Estando Maria, sua mãe, desposada com José, antes de se ajuntarem, achou-se ter concebido do Espírito Santo.

18Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

19Então José, seu marido, como era justo, e a não queria infamar, intentou deixá-la secretamente.

19Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

20E, projetando ele isto, eis que em sonho lhe apareceu um anjo do Senhor, dizendo: José, filho de Davi, não temas receber a Maria, tua mulher, porque o que nela está gerado é do Espírito Santo;

20But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.

21E dará à luz um filho e chamarás o seu nome JESUS; porque ele salvará o seu povo dos seus pecados.

21And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

22Tudo isto aconteceu para que se cumprisse o que foi dito da parte do Senhor, pelo profeta, que diz;

22Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23Eis que a virgem conceberá, e dará à luz um filho, E chamá-lo-ão pelo nome de EMANUEL, Que traduzido é: Deus conosco.

23Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24E José, despertando do sono, fez como o anjo do Senhor lhe ordenara, e recebeu a sua mulher;

24Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:

25E não a conheceu até que deu à luz seu filho, o primogênito; e pôs-lhe por nome JESUS.

25And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
