Pastor de Hermas 55

1Ouça a parábola que vou te contar sobre o jejum. Um certo homem tinha um campo e muitos servos, e em uma parte do campo plantou uma vinha.

1Listen to the parable I am going to tell you about fasting. A certain man had a field and many servants, and in one part of the field he planted a vineyard.

2E escolhendo um certo servo que era fiel, bem apessoado e honrado, ele o chamou e lhe disse: 'Tome esta vinha que plantei e coloque estacas nela até que eu venha, e nada mais faça à vinha; e cumpra esta minha ordem e serás livre em minha casa.'

2And choosing a certain servant who was faithful, well-appearing and honored, he called him and said to him: 'Take this vineyard that I planted and put stakes in it until I come, and do nothing else to the vineyard; and keep this my order and you shall be free in my house.'

3E o dono do campo partiu para o estrangeiro. E quando ele partiu, o servo tomou a vinha e a estacou.

3And the master of the field left for abroad. And when he left, the servant took the vineyard and staked it.

4E tendo terminado de estacar a vinha, ele viu que a vinha estava cheia de ervas daninhas. Ele pensou em si mesmo, dizendo: 'Esta ordem do meu senhor eu cumpri; eu agora limparei esta vinha, e ela será mais bonita quando estiver limpa, e não tendo ervas daninhas produzirá mais fruto, não sendo sufocada pelas ervas daninhas.'

4And having finished staking the vineyard, he saw that the vineyard was full of weeds. He thought to himself, saying: 'This order of my master I have fulfilled; I will now clean this vineyard, and it will be more beautiful when it is clean, and not having weeds it will produce more fruit, not being choked by the weeds.'

5Ele foi e limpou a vinha, e arrancou todas as ervas daninhas que estavam nela. E aquela vinha tornou-se muito bonita e florescente, não tendo ervas daninhas para sufocá-la.

5He went and cleaned the vineyard, and pulled out all the weeds that were in it. And that vineyard became very beautiful and flourishing, not having weeds to choke it.

6Depois de algum tempo, o senhor do campo e do servo veio, e entrou no campo. E vendo a vinha estacada lindamente, e além disso limpa e florescendo e cheia de fruto, ele foi excessivamente alegre.

6After some time, the master of the field and of the servant came, and entered the field. And seeing the vineyard staked beautifully, and furthermore clean and flourishing and full of fruit, he was exceedingly joyful.

7Então ele chamou seu filho amado, que era seu herdeiro, e seus amigos que eram seus conselheiros, e contou-lhes o que ele tinha ordenado ao seu servo e o que ele tinha encontrado feito.

7Then he called his beloved son, who was his heir, and his friends who were his counselors, and told them what he had ordered his servant and what he had found done.

8E eles se congratularam com o servo pela evidência que seu senhor deu a ele. E ele disse-lhes: 'Eu prometi a este servo sua liberdade se ele guardasse a ordem que lhe dei; mas ele guardou minha ordem e acrescentou uma boa obra à vinha, e me agradou excessivamente.'

8And they congratulated the servant for the evidence his master gave him. And he said to them: 'I promised this servant his freedom if he kept the order I gave him; but he kept my order and added a good work to the vineyard, and pleased me exceedingly.'

9'Portanto, por esta obra que ele fez, desejo torná-lo coerdeiro com meu filho, porque quando ele teve um bom pensamento, ele não o negligenciou, mas o executou.'

9'Therefore, for this work he did, I desire to make him co-heir with my son, because when he had a good thought, he did not neglect it, but executed it.'

10Com este propósito, o filho do senhor concordou com ele, para que o servo devesse ser feito coerdeiro com o filho. Depois de alguns dias, o senhor da casa fez uma festa e enviou-lhe muitos pratos de sua mesa.

10With this purpose, the son of the master agreed with him, so that the servant should be made co-heir with the son. After some days, the master of the house made a feast and sent him many dishes from his table.

11Mas o servo, recebendo os pratos enviados a ele pelo seu senhor, tomou o que era suficiente para si mesmo e distribuiu o resto aos seus conservos. E seus conservos, recebendo os pratos, alegraram-se e começaram a orar por ele, para que ele encontrasse maior favor com seu senhor, porque ele os tinha tratado assim.

11But the servant, receiving the dishes sent to him by his master, took what was sufficient for himself and distributed the rest to his fellow servants. And his fellow servants, receiving the dishes, rejoiced and began to pray for him, that he might find greater favor with his master, because he had treated them so.

12Todas estas coisas que tinham acontecido seu senhor ouviu, e novamente foi excessivamente alegre com sua conduta. E o senhor, chamando novamente seus amigos e seu filho, relatou-lhes a conduta do servo com os pratos que ele tinha recebido; e eles concordaram ainda mais que o servo devesse se tornar coerdeiro com seu filho.

12All these things that had happened his master heard, and again was exceedingly joyful with his conduct. And the master, calling again his friends and his son, related to them the servant's conduct with the dishes he had received; and they agreed even more that the servant should become co-heir with his son.
