Pastor de Hermas 42

1Disse-me: Mostrarei-te a semelhança do espírito de santidade.

1He said to me: I will show you the likeness of the spirit of holiness.

2O espírito dado por Deus ao homem, quando o homem o usa corretamente, cresce e brilha como o sol.

2The spirit given by God to man, when man uses it correctly, grows and shines like the sun.

3Mas quando um homem peca contra ele, o espírito se entristece e se obscurece como a lua.

3But when a man sins against it, the spirit grieves and is obscured like the moon.

4Por isso, purifica-te e afasta toda maldade de ti, para que o espírito não se entristeça em ti.

4Therefore, purify yourself and put away all wickedness from you, so that the spirit may not grieve in you.
