Pastor de Hermas 35

1DÉCIMO PRIMEIRO MANDAMENTO: Ele me mostrou pessoas sentadas num banco, e outra pessoa sentada numa cadeira.

1ELEVENTH COMMANDMENT: He showed me people sitting on a bench, and another person sitting on a chair.

2E me disse: Vês as que estão sentadas no banco? Eu vejo, senhor, disse eu. Estas, disse ele, são fiéis.

2And he said to me: Do you see those sitting on the bench? I see, lord, I said. These, he said, are faithful.

3E a que está sentada na cadeira é uma falsa profetisa que destrói os servos de Deus. São os que duvidam, não os que têm fé, que ela destrói.

3And the one sitting on the chair is a false prophetess who destroys the servants of God. It is those who doubt, not those who have faith, that she destroys.

4Estes duvidosos vão a ela como a uma adivinha e perguntam o que acontecerá com eles. E ela, a falsa profetisa, não tendo nenhum poder de espírito divino em si, responde segundo suas perguntas e segundo os desejos de suas maldades.

4These doubters go to her as to a soothsayer and ask what will happen to them. And she, the false prophetess, having no power of divine spirit in herself, answers according to their questions and according to the desires of their wickedness.
