1Respondi: Pequei contra ti? De que modo? Ou quando te disse alguma palavra imprópria? Não te considerei sempre como uma deusa? Não te tratei sempre como irmã?

1I replied: Did I sin against you? In what way? Or when did I say any improper word to you? Did I not always consider you as a goddess? Did I not always treat you as a sister?

2Ela sorriu e disse: O desejo de mal subiu em teu coração. Não te parece que é pecado para um homem justo ter mau desejo em seu coração?

2She smiled and said: The desire of evil rose in your heart. Does it not seem to you that it is a sin for a righteous man to have an evil desire in his heart?

3É pecado, e grande pecado. Pois o homem justo pensa coisas justas. E enquanto ele pensa coisas justas, sua glória está firme nos céus e encontra o Senhor favorável em todos os seus negócios.

3It is a sin, and a great sin. For the righteous man thinks righteous things. And while he thinks righteous things, his glory is firm in the heavens and he finds the Lord favorable in all his business.

4Mas aqueles que pensam coisas más em seus corações trazem para si mesmos morte e cativeiro.

4But those who think evil things in their hearts bring upon themselves death and captivity.
