Pastor de Hermas 18

1E depois que os jovens partiram e ficamos sozinhos, ela me disse: Senta-te aqui. Eu disse: Senhora, deixa os anciãos se sentarem primeiro.

1And after the young men left and we were alone, she said to me: Sit here. I said: Lady, let the elders sit first.

2Ela disse: Faze o que te digo; senta-te. Então quando quis me sentar do lado direito, ela não permitiu, mas me fez sinal com a mão para me sentar à sua esquerda.

2She said: Do what I tell you; sit down. Then when I wanted to sit on the right side, she did not allow it, but signaled me with her hand to sit on her left.

3Enquanto eu pensava sobre isso e estava triste porque não me deixou sentar à direita, disse: Estás triste, Hermas? O lugar à direita é para outros, para os que já agradaram a Deus e sofreram pelo Nome.

3While I was thinking about this and was sad because she did not let me sit on the right, she said: Are you sad, Hermas? The place on the right is for others, for those who have already pleased God and suffered for the Name.

4Mas a ti faltam muitas coisas para te sentares com eles. Mas permanece como tu és, em tua simplicidade, e te sentarás com eles, junto com todos os que praticaram suas obras e suportaram o que eles suportaram.

4But you lack many things to sit with them. But remain as you are, in your simplicity, and you will sit with them, together with all who have practiced their works and endured what they endured.
