Oséias 8

1Põe a trombeta à tua boca. Ele virá como a águia contra a casa do SENHOR, porque transgrediram a minha aliança, e se rebelaram contra a minha lei.

1{Set} the trumpet to thy mouth. {He shall come} as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law. {thy: Heb. the roof of thy}

2E a mim clamarão: Deus meu! Nós, Israel, te conhecemos.

2Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.

3Israel rejeitou o bem; o inimigo persegui-lo-á.

3Israel hath cast off {the thing that is} good: the enemy shall pursue him.

4Eles fizeram reis, mas não por mim; constituíram príncipes, mas eu não o soube; da sua prata e do seu ouro fizeram ídolos para si, para serem destruídos.

4They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew {it} not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.

5O teu bezerro, ó Samaria, te rejeitou; a minha ira se acendeu contra eles; até quando serão eles incapazes da inocência?

5Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast {thee} off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long {will it be} ere they attain to innocency?

6Porque isso vem de Israel, um artífice o fez, e não é Deus; mas em pedaços será desfeito o bezerro de Samaria.

6For from Israel {was} it also: the workman made it; therefore it {is} not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

7Porque semearam vento, e segarão tormenta, não haverá seara, a erva não dará farinha; se a der, tragá-la-ão os estrangeiros.

7For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up. {stalk: or, standing corn}

8Israel foi devorado; agora está entre os gentios como um vaso em que ninguém tem prazer.

8Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein {is} no pleasure.

9Porque subiram à Assíria, como um jumento montês, por si só; Efraim mercou amores.

9For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers. {lovers: Heb. loves}

10Todavia, ainda que eles merquem entre as nações, eu os congregarei; e serão um pouco afligidos por causa da carga do rei dos príncipes.

10Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes. {sorrow: or, begin} {a...: or, in a little while}

11Porquanto Efraim multiplicou os altares para pecar; teve altares para pecar.

11Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.

12Escrevi-lhe as grandezas da minha lei, porém essas são estimadas como coisa estranha.

12I have written to him the great things of my law, {but} they were counted as a strange thing.

13Quanto aos sacrifícios das minhas ofertas, sacrificam carne, e a comem, mas o Senhor não as aceita; agora se lembrará da sua iniqüidade, e punirá os seus pecados; eles voltarão para o Egito.

13They sacrifice flesh {for} the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat {it; but} the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt. {They sacrifice...: or, In the sacrifices of mine offerings they, etc}

14Porque Israel se esqueceu do seu Criador, e edificou templos, e Judá multiplicou cidades fortificadas. Mas eu enviarei um fogo contra as suas cidades, que consumirá os seus palácios.

14For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
