Oséias 13

1Quando Efraim falava, tremia-se; foi exaltado em Israel; mas ele se fez culpado em Baal, e morreu.

1When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.

2E agora multiplicaram pecados, e da sua prata fizeram uma imagem de fundição, ídolos segundo o seu entendimento, todos obra de artífices, dos quais dizem: Os homens que sacrificam beijem os bezerros.

2And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, {and} idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves. {they sin...: Heb. they add to sin} {the men...: or, the sacrificers of men}

3Por isso serão como a nuvem da manhã, e como o orvalho da madrugada, que cedo passa; como folhelho que a tempestade lança da eira, e como a fumaça da chaminé.

3Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff {that} is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.

4Todavia, eu sou o Senhor teu Deus desde a terra do Egito; portanto não reconhecerás outro deus além de mim, porque não há Salvador senão eu.

4Yet I {am} the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for {there is} no saviour beside me.

5Eu te conheci no deserto, na terra muito seca.

5I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought. {great...: Heb. droughts}

6Depois eles se fartaram em proporção do seu pasto; estando fartos, ensoberbeceu-se o seu coração, por isso se esqueceram de mim.

6According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

7Serei, pois, para eles como leão; como leopardo espiarei no caminho.

7Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe {them}:

8Como ursa roubada dos seus filhos, os encontrarei, e lhes romperei as teias do seu coração, e como leão ali os devorarei; as feras do campo os despedaçarão.

8I will meet them as a bear {that is} bereaved {of her whelps}, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them. {wild...: Heb. beast of the field}

9Para a tua perda, ó Israel, te rebelaste contra mim, a saber, contra o teu ajudador.

9O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me {is} thine help. {is...: Heb. in thy help}

10Onde está agora o teu rei, para que te guarde em todas as tuas cidades, e os teus juízes, dos quais disseste: Dá-me rei e príncipes?

10I will be thy king: where {is any other} that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes? {I will...: rather, Where is thy king?}

11Dei-te um rei na minha ira, e tirei-o no meu furor.

11I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took {him} away in my wrath.

12A iniqüidade de Efraim está atada, o seu pecado está armazenado.

12The iniquity of Ephraim {is} bound up; his sin {is} hid.

13Dores de mulher de parto lhe sobrevirão; ele é um filho insensato; porque é tempo e não está no lugar em que deve vir à luz.

13The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he {is} an unwise son; for he should not stay long in {the place of} the breaking forth of children. {long: Heb. a time}

14Eu os remirei da mão do inferno, e os resgatarei da morte. Onde estão, ó morte, as tuas pragas? Onde está, ó inferno, a tua perdição? O arrependimento está escondido de meus olhos.

14I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes. {power: Heb. hand}

15Ainda que ele dê fruto entre os irmãos, virá o vento leste, vento do Senhor, subindo do deserto, e secar-se-á a sua nascente, e secar-se-á a sua fonte; ele saqueará o tesouro de todos os vasos desejáveis.

15Though he be fruitful among {his} brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels. {pleasant...: Heb. vessels of desire}

16Samaria virá a ser deserta, porque se rebelou contra o seu Deus; cairão à espada, seus filhos serão despedaçados, e as suas grávidas serão fendidas pelo meio.

16Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
