1Ó TU, Altíssimo que trovejas nos céus, bendito e celestial,

1O THOU high-thundering blessed heavenly One,

2Que puseste em seu lugar os querubins,

2Who hast set in their place the cherubim,

3Eu, que proferi o que é em verdade por demais veraz,

3I, who have uttered what is all too true,

4Suplico-te: permite-me ter um pouco de descanso;

4Entreat thee, let me have a little rest;

5Porque o meu coração se fatigou no meu íntimo.

5For my heart has grown weary from within.

6Mas por que de novo salta o meu coração, e a minha alma,

6But why again leaps my heart, and my soul

7Fustigada por um açoite desde o íntimo, é constrangida

7With a whip smitten from within constrained

8A proclamar a sua mensagem a todos?

8To utter forth its message unto all?

9Mas todavia mais uma vez proclamarei todas as coisas

11Ó homens, que em vossa imagem tendes uma forma

12Modelada por Deus, por que andais vós errantes em vão,

13E não andais no caminho reto, lembrando-vos sempre

13And walk not in the straight way, always mindful

14Do Criador imortal? Deus é um só,

14Of the immortal Maker? God is one,

15Soberano, inefável, que habita nos céus,

15Sovereign, ineffable, dwelling in heaven,

16Autoexistente e invisível,

16The self-existent and invisible,

27And tireless sun, and full moon and bright stars,

28E a poderosa mãe Tétis, fontes e rios,

28And mighty mother Tethys, springs and rivers,

29O fogo inextinguível, e os dias e as noites.

29Imperishable fire, and days and nights.

30Este é o Deus que formou Adão de quatro letras,

30This is the God who formed four-lettered Adam,

31O primeiro formado, enchendo com o seu nome

31The first one formed, and filling with his name

32O oriente, o ocidente, o sul e o norte. É ele mesmo

32East, west, and south, and north. The same is he

33Quem fixou o padrão da forma humana,

33Who fixed the pattern of the human form,

34E fez as feras, e os répteis, e as aves do céu.

34And made wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls.

35Vós não adorais nem temeis a Deus,

35Ye do not worship neither fear ye God,

36Mas em vão vos desviais e dobrais o joelho

36But vainly go astray and bow the knee

37Diante de serpentes, e fazeis oferendas a gatos,

37To serpents, and make offering to cats,

38E a ídolos e imagens de pedra esculpidas por homens,

38And idols, and stone images of men,

39E vos assentais diante das portas de templos ímpios;

39And sit before the doors of godless temples;

40Guardais aquele que é Deus, que sustenta todas as coisas,

40Ye guard him who is God, who keeps all things,

41E, folgando com a maldade das pedras,

41And merry with the wickedness of stones

42Esqueceis o juízo do Salvador imortal

42Forget the judgment of the immortal Saviour

43Que fez o céu e a terra. Ai de vós! Geração

100And to the mighty earth and sea shall fall

101Todo o céu multiforme; e correrá

101The entire multiform sky; and there shall flow

102Uma infatigável catarata de fogo bramidor,

102A tireless cataract of raging fire,

103E queimará a terra, e queimará o mar,

103And it shall burn the land, and burn the sea,

104E o céu celestial, e a noite, e o dia, e derreterá

104And heavenly sky, and night, and day, and melt

105A própria criação em conjunto e apartará

105Creation itself together and pick out

106O que é puro. Não mais haverá esferas ridentes de luz,

106What is pure. No more laughing spheres of light,

107Nem noite, nem alvorecer, nem muitos dias de afã,

107Nor night, nor dawn, nor many days of care,

108Nem primavera, nem inverno, nem tempo de verão,

108Nor spring, nor winter, nor the summer-time,

109Nem outono. E então do poderoso Deus

109Nor autumn. And then of the mighty God

110O juízo em meio a uma era poderosa

110The judgment midway in a mighty age

111Virá, quando todas estas coisas se cumprirem.

111Shall come, when all these things shall come to pass.

112Ó águas navegáveis e cada porção de terra

114Sujeitas serão todas as coisas àquele que vem

121Subir às alturas até ao céu estrelado;

121To mount aloft into the starry heaven;

122Mas sobre o ar o Imortal de pronto impôs

122But on the air the Immortal straightway put

123Uma força poderosa; e então os ventos lá do alto

123A mighty force; and then winds from above

124Derrubaram a grande torre e incitaram os mortais

124Cast down the great tower and stirred mortals up

125A contenderem uns com os outros; por isso os homens

203Shall include horsemen of Phoenicia

204E da Síria, e também das ilhas,

204And Syria, and of the islands too,

205E a raça dos panfílios e dos persas,

205And the race of Pamphylians and Persians

206E frígios, cários e mísios,

206And Phrygians, Carians, and Mysians

207E a raça dos lídios rica em ouro.

207And the race of the Lydians rich in gold.

208E então os helenos, soberbos e impuros,

208And then shall Hellenes, proud and impure,

209Então governará uma nação macedônia,

209Then shall a Macedonian nation rule,

210Grande e sagaz, que como temível nuvem de guerra

210Great, shrewd, who as a fearful cloud of war

211Virá sobre os mortais. Mas o Deus do céu

211Shall come to mortals. But the God of heaven

212Os destruirá totalmente desde as profundezas.

212Shall utterly destroy them from the depth.

213E depois haverá outro reino, branco

213And then shall be another kingdom, white

214E de muitas cabeças, oriundo do mar ocidental,

214And many-headed, from the western sea,

215O qual governará sobre muita terra, e abalará muitos homens,

215Which shall rule much land, and shake many men,

216E a todos os reis trará terror depois,

216And to all kings bring terror afterwards,

217E de muitas cidades há de consumir

217And out of many cities shall destroy

218Muito ouro e prata; contudo, na vasta terra

218Much gold and silver; but in the vast earth

219Haverá novamente ouro, e também prata,

219There will again be gold, and silver too,

220E adornos. E eles oprimirão os mortais;

220And ornament. And they will oppress mortals;

221E para esses homens haverá grande desastre,

222Quando começarem a sua injusta arrogância.

222When they begin unrighteous arrogance.

223E incontinenti haverá neles uma torrente

223And forthwith in them there shall be a force

224De maldade: varão se ajuntará com varão,

224Of wickedness, male will consort with male,

225E colocarão crianças em antros de vergonha;

225And children they will place in dens of shame;

226E naqueles dias haverá entre os homens

226And in those days there shall be among men

227Uma grande aflição, e ela perturbará

227A great affliction, and it shall disturb

228Todas as coisas, e quebrantará todas as coisas, e encherá todas as coisas

228All things, and break all things, and fill all things

229De males por uma torpe cobiça,

229With evils by a shameful covetousness,

230E por riquezas mal adquiridas em muitas terras,

230And by ill-gotten wealth in many lands,

231Mas sobretudo na Macedônia.

231But most of all in Macedonia.

232E suscitará ódio, e todo o dolo

232And it shall stir up hatred, and all guile

233Estará com eles até ao sétimo reino,

233Shalt be with them even to the seventh kingdom,

234Do qual um rei do Egito reinará,

234Of which a king of Egypt shall be king

235Que será descendente dos gregos.

235Who shall be a descendant from the Greeks.

236E então a nação do Deus poderoso

237Será de novo forte e eles serão guias

237Shall be again strong and they shall be guides

238De vida para todos os homens. Mas por que pôs Deus

238Of life to all men. But why did God place

267Há uma cidade . . . sobre a terra,

268Ur dos caldeus, donde procede uma estirpe

269De homens justíssimos, aos quais tanto a boa vontade

269Of men most righteous, to whom both good will

270Como as obras nobres têm sido sempre um cuidado.

825Ficará sobrecarregado; e a terra frutífera

825Shall be weighed down; and the full-bearing earth

826E o mar se encherão de bens.

826And the sea shall be filled full of good things.

827E os reis uns contra os outros começarão

827And kings against each other shall begin

828A guardar má vontade, no coração maquinando males.

828To hold ill will, in heart abetting evils.

829A inveja não é um bem para os míseros homens.

829Envy is not a good to wretched men.

830Mas de novo reis das nações sobre esta terra

830But again kings of nations on this land

831Se arremeterão em multidões, trazendo sobre si mesmos

831Shall rush in masses, bringing on themselves

832Destruição; pois intentarão despojar

832Destruction; for they'll purpose to despoil

833O templo do grande Deus e os mais nobres homens.

833The great God's temple and the noblest men.

834Quando alcançarem a terra, os reis contaminados

834What time they reach the land, polluted kings

835Porão ao redor da cidade cada um o seu trono,

835Shall set around the city each his throne

836Tendo cada qual o seu povo que não obedece a Deus.

836And have his people that obey not God.

837E então falará Deus com poderosa voz

837And then shall God speak with a mighty voice

838A todo o povo rude de entendimento vão,

838To all rude people of an empty mind,

839E juízo da parte do Deus poderoso virá

839And judgment from the mighty God shall come

840Sobre eles, e todos serão destruídos

840Upon them, and they all shall be destroyed

841Por seu braço imortal. E espadas de fogo

841By his immortal arm. And fiery swords

842Cairão do céu sobre a terra; e grandes luzes resplandecentes

842Shall fall front heaven on earth; and great bright lights

843Descerão chamejando no meio dos homens.

843Shall come down flaming in the midst of men.

844E naqueles dias a terra, mãe de todos, vacilará

844And in those days shall earth, all-mother, reel

845Por seu braço imortal, e os cardumes de peixes

845By his immortal arm, and shoals of fish

846No mar profundo, e todas as feras da terra,

846In the deep sea, and all wild, beasts of earth,

847E inumeráveis bandos de aves aladas, e todas

847And countless tribes of winged fowl, and all

848As almas dos homens e todo o mar tremerão

848The souls of men and every sea shall tremble

849Diante da face do Imortal,

849Before the face of the Immortal One,

850E haverá pavor. Os altos cumes dos montes

850And there shall be dismay. High mountain peaks

851E outeiros descomunais ele fenderá,

851And monstrous hills shall he asunder break,

852E a todos o escuro Érebo se manifestará.

852And to all shall dark Erebus appear.

853E os despenhadeiros nevoentos nos montes alterosos

853And misty gorges in the lofty hills

854Ficarão cheios de mortos; e as rochas manarão

854Shall be full of the dead; and rocks shall stream

855Sangue, e cada torrente inundará a planície.

855With blood and every torrent fill the plain.

856E os muros bem construídos dos homens iníquos

856And well-built walls of evil-minded men

857Cairão todos por terra, porquanto não conheceram

857Shall all fall to the earth, since they knew not

858A lei nem o juízo do Deus poderoso,

858The law nor judgment of the mighty God,

859Mas com alma insensata se apressaram todos

859But with a senseless soul all hurried on

860Contra o templo e levantaram as suas lanças.

860Against the temple and raised up their spears.

861E Deus julgará a todos pela guerra e pela espada,

861And God shall judge all by war and by sword

862E pelo fogo e pela tempestade assoladora;

862And by fire and by overwhelming storm;

863E haverá enxofre do céu, e pedras,

863And brimstone there shall be from heaven, and stones

864E saraiva grande e pesada; e a morte sobrevirá

864And great and grievous hail; and death shall come

865Aos quadrúpedes. E então eles

865Upon the quadrupeds. And then shall they

866Conhecerão a Deus, o Imortal, que faz estas coisas;

866Know God, the Immortal, who performs these things;

867E pranto, e sobre a terra sem limites

867And wailing, and upon the boundless earth

868Haverá subitamente um clamor de homens que perecem;

868Shall be at once a shout of perishing men;

869E todos os ímpios serão banhados em sangue;

869And all the unholy shall be bathed in blood;

870E a própria terra também beberá o sangue

870And earth herself shall also drink the blood

871Dos que perecem, e as feras se fartarão de carne.

871Of the perishing, and beasts be gorged with flesh.

872E todas estas coisas o grande Deus eterno

872And all these things the great eternal God

873Me ordenou ele mesmo proclamar. E não ficará

873Himself bade me proclaim. And that shall not

874Sem cumprimento, nem deixará de realizar-se,

874Be unaccomplished, or be unfulfilled,

875Tudo quanto pôs unicamente em meu coração;

875Whatever only in my heart he put;

876Porque verdadeiro é o Espírito de Deus no mundo.

876For truthful is God's spirit in the world.

877Porém os filhos do Deus poderoso todos

877But children of the mighty God shall all

878Outra vez ao redor do templo habitarão em paz,

878Again around the temple live in peace,

879Regozijando-se naquelas coisas que há de dar aquele

879Rejoicing in those things which he shall give

880Que é o Criador, reto Juiz e Rei.

880Who is Creator, righteous Judge and King.

881Pois ele mesmo, grande, presente ao longe e ao perto,

881For he himself, great, present far and wide,

882Será um refúgio, como por todos os lados ao redor

882Shall be a shelter, as on all sides round

883Um muro de fogo chamejante. E estarão

883A wall of flaming fire. And they shall be

884Nas cidades e no campo sem guerra.

884In cities and in country without war.

885Pois não a mão da funesta guerra, mas antes

885For not the hand of evil war, but rather

886O próprio Imortal será o seu defensor,

886The Immortal shall himself be their defender

887E a mão do Santo. E então todas

887And the hand of the Holy One. And then shall all

888As ilhas e as cidades dirão quanto

888The islands and the cities tell how much

889O Deus imortal ama aqueles homens; pois todas as coisas

889The immortal God loves those men; for all things

890Os ajudam na contenda e os livram:

890Help them in conflict and deliver them

891O céu, e o sol divinamente criado, e a lua.

891Heaven, and divinely fashioned sun, and moon.

892E naqueles dias a terra, mãe de todos, vacilará.

892[And in those days shall earth, all-mother, reel.]

893Doce palavra proferirão de suas bocas em hinos:

893Sweet word shall they send from their mouths in hymns:

895The immortal King, and great eternal God.

899Which is most righteous of all (laws) on earth.

900And from the path of the Immortal we

901Have wandered and with senseless soul we honor

902Obras feitas por mãos e imagens de madeira

902Works made by hand and wooden images

903De homens mortos. Estas coisas as almas dos homens fiéis

903Of dead men." These things souls of faithful melt

904Clamarão: Vinde, e tendo diante da casa de Deus

904Shall cry out: "Come, having, at the house of God

905Nos prostrado sobre os nossos rostos, façamos com os nossos hinos

905Fallen on our faces, let its with our hymns

906Alegria a Deus o Pai em nossos lares,

906Make joy to God the Father at our homes,

907Supridos por toda a nossa terra com armas dos inimigos

907Supplied through all our land with arms of foes

908Por sete períodos de tempo no decurso dos anos;

908Seven lengths of time in the revolving years;

909Escudos e capacetes e toda sorte de armas,

909Even shields and helmets and all sorts of arms,

910E grande provisão de arcos e flechas farpadas;

910And a great store of bows and arrows barbed;

911Porque a lenha da floresta não se cortará para o fogo.

911For forest wood shall not be cut for

912Porém tu, desventurada Hélade, cessa a tua soberba

912But, wretched Hellas, stop thy arrogance

913E sê prudente; e suplica ao Imortal

913And be wise; and entreat the Immortal One

914Magnânimo, e põe-te de sobreaviso.

914Magnanimous, and be upon thy guard.

915Envia agora contra esta cidade ainda outra vez

915Send now against this city yet again

916O povo insensato, que veio

916The people inconsiderate, who are come

917De fora da terra santa do Poderoso.

917Out of the holy land of the mighty One.

918Não removas Camarina; porque é melhor

918Do not move Camarina; for 'tis better

919Que ela permaneça imóvel; como um leopardo de seu covil,

919She be unmoved; a leopard from the lair,

920Não permitas que um mal venha ao teu encontro.

920Do thou not let an evil meet with thee.

921Mas afasta-te, não guardes em teu peito

921But keep off, do not hold within thy breast

922Uma alma soberba e insolente,

922An arrogant and overbearing soul,

923Pronta para grande contenda. E serve ao Deus

923Ready for mighty contest. And serve God

924Poderoso, para que possas participar daquelas coisas;

924The mighty, that thou mayest share those things;

925E quando aquele dia determinado chegar ao seu fim,

925And when that fated day shall reach its end

926E o juízo do Deus imortal sobrevier

926[And judgment of the immortal God shall come

927Aos mortais, grande juízo e poder virão

927To mortals], judgment great and power shall come

928Sobre os homens. Pois a terra, mãe de todos, produzirá

928Upon men. For all-mother earth shall yield

929Aos mortais o melhor fruto sem medida: trigo, vinho, azeite;

929To mortals best fruit boundless, wheat, wine, oil;

930E outrossim do céu uma deleitosa bebida

930Also from heaven a delightful drink

931De mel, e as árvores darão o seu fruto,

931Of honey and trees shall give their fruit,

932E ovelhas cevadas e gado haverá,

932And fatted sheep and cattle there shall be,

933Cordeiros tenros e cabritos das cabras; a terra brotará

933Young lambs and kids of goats; earth shall break forth

934Com doces fontes de leite alvo; e de coisas boas

934With sweet springs of white milk; and of good things

935As cidades estarão cheias e férteis os campos;

935The cities shall be full and fat the fields;

936Nem espada nem tumulto haverá sobre a terra;

936Nor sword nor uproar shall be on the earth;

937Não mais gemerá a terra pesadamente nem tremerá;

937No more shall earth groan heavily and quake;

938Nem guerra haverá mais sobre a terra, nem seca,

938Nor shall war longer be on earth, nor drought,

939Nem fome, nem saraiva que destrói os frutos;

939Nor famine, nor the fruit-destroying hail;

940Mas grande paz haverá sobre toda a terra,

940But great peace, shall be upon all the earth,

941E rei com rei será amigo até ao fim

941And king to king be friend until the end

942Do século, e sobre toda a terra uma lei comum

942Of the age, and o'er all earth common law

943O Imortal no céu estrelado

943Will the Immortal in the starry heaven

944Aperfeiçoará para os homens, tocante a todas as coisas

944Perfect for men, touching whatever things

945Que foram pelos míseros mortais praticadas;

945Have been by miserable mortals done;

946Porque ele só é Deus, e não há outro;

946For he alone is God, there is no other;

947E o furor terrível dos homens ele queimará com fogo.

947And the stern rage of men he'll burn with fire.

948Porém muda inteiramente os pensamentos de teu coração,

948But change entirely the thoughts in thy heart,

949E foge do culto iníquo; serve àquele

949And flee unrighteous worship; serve the One

950Que vive; guarda-te do adultério

950Who liveth; guard against adultery

951E das obras de lascívia; cria a tua própria prole

951And deeds of lewdness; thine own offspring rear

952E não mates; porque o Imortal

952And do not murder; for the Immortal One

953Se ira contra aquele que nestas coisas peca.

953Is angry with him who in these things sins.

954E então um reino sobre toda a humanidade

954And then a kingdom over all mankind

955Ele suscitará para sempre, aquele que dantes deu

955Shall he raise up for ages, who once gave

956A santa lei aos piedosos, aos quais

956Holy law to the pious, unto whom

957Prometeu abrir toda terra, o mundo

957He pledged to open every land, the world

958E as portas dos bem-aventurados, e todos os gozos,

958And portals of the blessed, and all joys,

959E entendimento imortal e eterna bem-aventurança.

959And mind immortal and eternal bliss.

960E de toda a terra até à casa

960And out of every land unto the house

961Do grande Deus trarão incenso

961Of the great God shall they bring frankincense

962E dádivas, e não haverá outra casa

962And gifts, and there shall be no other house

963A ser consultada pelos homens vindouros,

963To be inquired of by men yet to be,

964Senão aquela que Deus deu para os homens fiéis honrarem;

964But what God gave for faithful men to honor;

965Pois os mortais, templo do Deus poderoso

965For mortal temple of the mighty God

966A hão de chamar. E todos os caminhos da planície,

966Shall call it. And all pathways of the plain

967E outeiros escabrosos, e altos montes, e bravas ondas

967And rough hills and high mountains and wild waves

968Do abismo serão fáceis naqueles dias

968Of the deep shall be easy in those days

969Para se atravessar e navegar; pois toda a paz

969For crossing and for sailing; for all peace

970Sobre a terra dos bons virá; e a espada

970On the land of the good shall come; and sword

971Os profetas do Deus poderoso removerão;

971Shall prophets of the mighty God remove;

972Porque eles são juízes e os justos reis

972For they are judges and the righteous kings

973Dos mortais. E haverá justa riqueza

973Of mortals. And there shall be righteous wealth

974Entre o gênero humano; porque do Deus poderoso

974Among mankind; for of the mighty God

975Este é o juízo e outrossim o poder.

975This is the judgment and also the power.

976Tem bom ânimo, ó donzela, e alegra-te;

976Be of good cheer, O maiden, and be glad;

977Porque aquele que fez o céu e a terra te concedeu

977For he who made the heaven and earth gave thee

978Alegria em teu século. E ele habitará em ti;

978Joy in thy age. And he will dwell in thee;

979E tua será a luz imortal; e os lobos

979And thine shall be immortal and wolves

980E os cordeiros nos montes pastarão a erva

980And lambs shall in the mountains feed on grass

981Juntamente, e com os cabritos pastarão os leopardos;

981Together, and with kids shall leopards graze;

982E os ursos pousarão entre os bezerros no pasto;

982And bears shall lodge among the pasturing calves;

983E o leão carnívoro comerá palha

983And the carnivorous lion shall eat chaff

984Na manjedoura como a vaca; e as criancinhas

984At the manger like the cow; and little children

985Por ataduras os guiarão; pois ele fará as feras

985In bonds shall lead them; for he will make beasts

986Inofensivas sobre a terra. Com os infantes adormecerão

986Helpless on earth. With babes shall fall asleep

987As serpentes juntamente com as víboras, e dano algum farão;

987Serpents, along with asps, and do no harm;

988Porque sobre eles estará a mão de Deus.

988For over them shall be the hand of God.

989Agora te declaro um sinal sobremodo claro,

989Now tell I thee a sign exceeding clear,

990Para que saibas quando o fim de todas as coisas

990That thou may'st know when the end of all things

991Sobre a terra há de ser. Quando no céu estrelado

991On earth shall be. When in the starry heaven

992Espadas de noite apontarem diretamente para o ocidente e o oriente,

992Swords shall by night point straight toward west and east,

993Imediatamente haverá também do céu

993Straightway shalt there be also from the heaven

994Uma nuvem de pó levada sobre toda a terra,

994A cloud of dust borne forth to all the earth,

995E o resplendor do sol no meio do céu

995And the sun's brightness in the midst of heaven

996Ficará eclipsado, e os raios da lua aparecerão

996Shall be eclipsed, and the moon's beams appear

997E voltarão sobre a terra; por gotas de sangue

997And come again on earth; by drops of blood

998A destilar das rochas um sinal haverá;

998Distilling from the rocks a sign shalt be;

999E na nuvem contemplareis uma peleja

999And in the cloud shalt ye behold a war

1000De infantaria e cavalaria, qual caçada de feras

1000Of foot and horse, like the chase of wild beasts

1001Na névoa densa. Este fim de todas as coisas Deus

1001In the dense fog. This end of all things God

1002Consumará, cuja morada está nos céus.

1002Shalt consummate, whose dwelling is in heaven.

1003Mas todos devem sacrificar ao grande Rei.

1003But all must sacrifice to the great King.

1004Estas coisas te mostro, eu que em delírio deixei

1004These things I show thee, I who madly left

1005Os longos muros da Babilônia assíria

1005The long walls of Assyrian Babylon

1006Para proclamar a toda a Hélade a ira

1006For Hellas to proclaim to all the wrath

1007De Deus, enviada por fogo...

1007Of God, fire sent. . . .

1008E para que eu profetizasse aos mortais

1008And that I might to mortals prophesy

1009Os mistérios divinos. E dirão os homens

1009Of mysteries divine. And men shalt say

1010Na Hélade que sou de terra estrangeira,

1010In Hellas that I am of foreign Land,

1011Nascida em Eritras, desavergonhada; outros dirão

1011Of Erythre born, shameless; others say

1012Que sou uma Sibila, gerada da mãe Circe

1012That I'm a Sibyl, born of mother Circe

1013E de pai Gnosto, furiosamente louca e falsa;

1013And father Gnostos raving mad and false;

1014Porém naquele tempo em que todas as coisas se cumprirem,

1014But at that time when all thing come to pass

1015Vos lembrareis de mim, e ninguém mais

1015Ye shall remember me, and no one more

1016Me chamará de louca, a profetisa do grande Deus,

1016Shall call me mad, the great God's prophetess,

1017Pois ele me mostrou o que dantes sucedeu

1017For he showed me what happened formerly

1018Aos meus antepassados; quais foram as primeiras coisas,

1018To my ancestors; what things were the first

1019Essas Deus me fez saber; e em meu entendimento

1019Those God made known to me; and in my mind

1020Pôs Deus todas as coisas que depois hão de ser,

1020Did God put all things to be afterwards,

1021Para que eu profetizasse das coisas vindouras,

1021That I might prophesy of things to come,

1022E das coisas que foram, e as anunciasse aos homens.

1022And things that were, and tell them unto men.

1023Porque quando o mundo foi inundado pelo dilúvio

1023For when the world was deluged with a flood

1024De águas, e um só homem de boa fama

1024Of waters, and one man of good repute

1025Restou só, e numa casa de madeira

1025Alone was left and in a wooden house

1026Navegou sobre as águas com as feras e as aves,

1026Sailed o'er the waters with the beasts and birds,

1027A fim de que o mundo tornasse a ser povoado,

1027In order that the world might be refilled,

1028Eu era noiva de seu filho e pertencia à sua raça,

1028I was his son's bride and was of his race

1029A quem as primeiras coisas sucederam, e as últimas

1029To whom the first things happened, and the last

1030Foram todas reveladas; e assim de minha própria boca

1030Were all made known; and thus from mine own mouth

1031Fiquem todas estas coisas verdadeiras declaradas.

1031Let all these truthful things remain declared.
