Sobre a Oração (Tertuliano) 27

1Os mais diligentes na oração costumam acrescentar a suas preces o Aleluia e salmos semelhantes, aos quais a assembleia responde no final. E, certamente, é excelente toda prática que, para exaltar e honrar a Deus, procura levar-lhe em união uma oração enriquecida, como vítima escolhida.

1The more diligent in prayer are wont to subjoin in their prayers the "Hallelujah," and such kind of psalms, in the closes of which the company respond. And, of course, every institution is excellent which, for the extolling and honouring of God, aims unitedly to bring Him enriched prayer as a choice victim.
