Odes de Salomão 28

1Como as asas das pombas sobre seus filhotes, e as bocas de seus filhotes em direção às suas bocas, assim também são as asas do Espírito sobre meu coração.

1As the wings of doves over their nestlings, and the mouths of their nestlings toward their mouths, so also are the wings of the Spirit over my heart.

2Meu coração continuamente se refresca e salta de alegria, como o bebê que salta de alegria no ventre de sua mãe.

2My heart continually refreshes itself and leaps for joy, like the baby who leaps for joy in the womb of his mother.

3Confiei, consequentemente estive em repouso; porque confiável é aquele em quem confiei.

3I trusted, consequently I was at rest; because trustworthy is he in whom I trusted.

4Ele me abençoou grandemente, e minha cabeça está com ele.

4He has blessed me greatly, and my head is with him.

5E a adaga não me dividirá dele, nem a espada;

5And the dagger shall not divide me from him, nor the sword;

6Porque estou pronto antes que a destruição venha, e fui colocado em seu lado imortal.

6For I am ready before destruction comes, and I have been set on his immortal side.

7E a vida imortal me abraçou, e me beijou.

7And immortal life embraced me, and kissed me.

8E dessa vida é o Espírito que está dentro de mim. E não pode morrer porque é vida.

8And from that life is the Spirit that is within me. And it cannot die because it is life.

9Aqueles que me viram ficaram maravilhados, porque fui perseguido.

9Those who saw me were amazed, because I was persecuted.

10E pensaram que eu tinha sido engolido, porque pareci a eles como um dos perdidos.

10And they thought that I had been swallowed up, because I seemed to them as one of the lost.

11Mas minha injustiça tornou-se minha salvação.

11But my injustice became my salvation.

12E tornei-me a abominação deles, porque não havia ciúme em mim.

12And I became their abomination, because there was no jealousy in me.

13Porque continuamente fiz o bem a todo homem fui odiado.

13Because I did good continually to every man I was hated.

14E me cercaram como cães loucos, aqueles que em estupidez atacam seus mestres.

14And they surrounded me like mad dogs, those who in stupidity attack their masters.

15Porque seu pensamento é depravado, e sua mente é pervertida.

15Because their thought is depraved, and their mind is perverted.

16Mas eu carregava água em minha mão direita, e sua amargura suportei pela minha doçura.

16But I was carrying water in my right hand, and I endured their bitterness by my sweetness.

17E não pereci, porque não era irmão deles, nem meu nascimento era como o deles.

17And I did not perish, because I was not their brother, nor was my birth like theirs.

18E buscaram minha morte mas não acharam possível, porque eu era mais velho que a memória deles; e em vão lançaram sortes contra mim.

18And they sought my death but were unable to find it possible, because I was older than their memory; and in vain they cast lots against me.

19E aqueles que estavam atrás de mim buscaram em vão destruir o memorial daquele que estava antes deles.

19And those who were behind me sought in vain to destroy the memorial of him who was before them.

20Porque o pensamento do Altíssimo não pode ser antecipado; e seu coração é superior a toda sabedoria. Aleluia.

20Because the thought of the Most High cannot be premeditated; and his heart is superior to all wisdom. Hallelujah.
