Odes de Salomão 23

1A alegria é para os santos. E quem a vestirá senão eles somente?

1Joy is for the saints. And who shall put it on but they alone?

2A graça é para os eleitos. E quem a receberá senão aqueles que confiaram nela desde o início?

2Grace is for the elect. And who shall receive it except those who trusted in it from the beginning?

3O amor é para os eleitos. E quem o vestirá senão aqueles que o possuíram desde o início?

3Love is for the elect. And who shall put it on except those who possessed it from the beginning?

4Andai no conhecimento do Senhor, e conhecereis a graça do Senhor generosamente; tanto para sua exultação quanto para a perfeição de seu conhecimento.

4Walk in the knowledge of the Lord, and you will know the grace of the Lord generously; both for his exultation and for the perfection of his knowledge.

5E seu pensamento foi como uma carta, e sua vontade desceu do alto.

5And his thought was like a letter, and his will descended from on high.

6E foi enviada como uma flecha que de um arco foi atirada com força.

6And it was sent like an arrow that from a bow was shot with force.

7E muitas mãos correram para a carta, a fim de apanhá-la, então tomá-la e lê-la.

7And many hands rushed to the letter, in order to catch it, then to take it and read it.

8Mas ela escapou de seus dedos; e eles tiveram medo dela e do selo que estava sobre ela.

8But it escaped from their fingers; and they were afraid of it and of the seal that was upon it.

9Porque não lhes foi permitido soltar seu selo; pois o poder que estava sobre o selo era maior que eles.

9Because they were not allowed to loose its seal; for the power that was upon the seal was greater than they.

10Mas aqueles que viram a carta foram atrás dela; para que pudessem aprender onde ela pousaria, e quem a leria, e quem a ouviria.

10But those who saw the letter went after it; that they might learn where it would land, and who would read it, and who would hear it.

11Mas uma roda a recebeu, e veio sobre ela.

11But a wheel received it, and came upon it.

12E um sinal estava com ela, do reino e da providência.

12And a sign was with it, of the kingdom and of the providence.

13E tudo o que estava perturbando a roda, ela ceifou e cortou.

13And everything that was disturbing the wheel, it mowed and cut down.

14E refreou uma multidão de adversários; e represou rios.

14And it held back a multitude of adversaries; and dammed up rivers.

15E atravessou e desenraizou muitas florestas, e fez um caminho aberto.

15And it crossed and uprooted many forests, and made an open way.

16A cabeça desceu aos pés, porque até os pés correu a roda, e o que quer que tivesse vindo sobre ela.

16The head went down to the feet, for unto the feet the wheel ran, and that which had come upon it.

17A carta era de comando, e daí todas as regiões foram reunidas.

17The letter was of command, and hence all domains were gathered together.

18E foi vista em sua cabeça, a cabeça que foi revelada, até mesmo o Filho da Verdade do Pai Altíssimo.

18And it was seen at its head, the head that was revealed, even the Son of Truth from the Father Most High.

19E ele herdou e possuiu tudo, e então a maquinação dos muitos cessou.

19And he inherited and possessed everything, and then the scheming of the many ceased.

20Então todos os sedutores tornaram-se obstinados e fugiram, e os perseguidores tornaram-se extintos e foram apagados.

20Then all the seducers became stubborn and fled, and the persecutors became extinct and were blotted out.

21E a carta tornou-se um grande volume, que foi inteiramente escrito pelo dedo de Deus.

21And the letter became a large volume, which was entirely written by the finger of God.

22E o nome do Pai estava sobre ela; e do Filho e do Espírito Santo, para governar para todo o sempre. Aleluia.

22And the name of the Father was upon it; and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, to rule forever and ever. Hallelujah.
