Odes de Salomão 16

1Como a ocupação do lavrador é a relha do arado, e a ocupação do timoneiro é a direção do navio, assim também minha ocupação é o salmo do Senhor pelos seus hinos.

1As the occupation of the farmer is the ploughshare, and the occupation of the helmsman is the steering of the ship, so also my occupation is the psalm of the Lord in his hymns.

2Minha arte e meu serviço estão em seus hinos, porque seu amor nutriu meu coração, e seus frutos ele derramou em meus lábios.

2My art and my service are in his hymns, because his love nourished my heart, and his fruits he poured into my lips.

3Pois meu amor é o Senhor; por isso cantarei para ele.

3For my love is the Lord; therefore I will sing to him.

4Pois sou fortalecido pelos seus louvores, e tenho fé nele.

4For I am strengthened by his praises, and I have faith in him.

5Abrirei minha boca, e seu Espírito falará através de mim a glória do Senhor e sua beleza,

5I will open my mouth, and his Spirit will speak through me the glory of the Lord and his beauty,

6A obra de suas mãos, e o trabalho de seus dedos;

6The work of his hands, and the labor of his fingers;

7Pela multidão de suas misericórdias, e a força de sua Palavra.

7By the multitude of his mercies, and the strength of his Word.

8Pois a Palavra do Senhor investiga o que é invisível, e revela o seu pensamento.

8For the Word of the Lord investigates what is invisible, and reveals his thought.

9Pois o olho vê suas obras, e o ouvido ouve seu pensamento.

9For the eye sees his works, and the ear hears his thought.

10É ele quem fez a terra larga, e colocou as águas no mar.

10It is he who made the earth broad, and placed the waters in the sea.

11Ele expandiu o céu, e fixou as estrelas.

11He expanded heaven, and fixed the stars.

12E ele fixou a criação e a estabeleceu, então repousou de suas obras.

12And he fixed creation and established it, then rested from his works.

13E as coisas criadas correm de acordo com seus cursos, e trabalham suas obras, pois nunca podem cessar nem falhar.

13And the things created run according to their courses, and work their works, for never can they cease nor fail.

14E as hostes estão sujeitas à sua Palavra.

14And the hosts are subject to his Word.

15O reservatório de luz é o sol, e o reservatório de escuridão é a noite.

15The reservoir of light is the sun, and the reservoir of darkness is the night.

16Pois ele fez o sol para o dia para que haja luz; mas a noite traz escuridão sobre a face da terra.

16For he made the sun for the day that there may be light; but night brings darkness upon the face of the earth.

17E por sua porção um do outro eles completam a beleza de Deus.

17And by their portion one of the other they complete the beauty of God.

18E não há nada fora do Senhor, porque ele era antes que qualquer coisa viesse a ser.

18And there is nothing outside the Lord, because he was before anything came to be.

19E os mundos são por sua Palavra, e pelo pensamento de seu coração.

19And the worlds are by his Word, and by the thought of his heart.

20Louvor e honra ao seu nome. Aleluia.

20Praise and honor to his name. Hallelujah.
