Números 35

1E falou o SENHOR a Moisés nas campinas de Moabe, junto ao Jordão na direção de Jericó, dizendo:

1And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan {near} Jericho, saying,

2Dá ordem aos filhos de Israel que, da herança da sua possessão, dêem cidades aos levitas, em que habitem; e também aos levitas dareis arrabaldes ao redor delas.

2Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give {also} unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them.

3E terão estas cidades para habitá-las; porém os seus arrabaldes serão o seu gado, e para os seus bens, e para todos os seus animais.

3And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts.

4E os arrabaldes das cidades, que dareis aos levitas, desde o muro da cidade para fora, serão de mil côvados em redor.

4And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, {shall reach} from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about.

5E de fora da cidade, do lado do oriente, medireis dois mil côvados, e do lado do sul, dois mil côvados, e do lado do ocidente dois mil côvados, e do lado do norte dois mil côvados, e a cidade no meio; isto terão por arrabaldes das cidades.

5And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city {shall be} in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities.

6Das cidades, pois, que dareis aos levitas, haverá seis cidades de refúgio, as quais dareis para que o homicida ali se acolha; e, além destas, lhes dareis quarenta e duas cidades.

6And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites {there shall be} six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities. {to them...: Heb. above them ye shall give}

7Todas as cidades que dareis aos levitas serão quarenta e oito cidades, juntamente com os seus arrabaldes.

7{So} all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites {shall be} forty and eight cities: them {shall ye give} with their suburbs.

8E quanto às cidades que derdes da herança dos filhos de Israel, do que tiver muito tomareis muito, e do que tiver pouco tomareis pouco; cada um dará das suas cidades aos levitas, segundo a herança que herdar.

8And the cities which ye shall give {shall be} of the possession of the children of Israel: from {them that have} many ye shall give many; but from {them that have} few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth. {he...: Heb. they inherit}

9Falou mais o Senhor a Moisés, dizendo:

9And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

10Fala aos filhos de Israel, e dize-lhes: Quando passardes o Jordão à terra de Canaã,

10Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan;

11Fazei com que vos estejam à mão cidades que vos sirvam de cidades de refúgio, para que ali se acolha o homicida que ferir a alguma alma por engano.

11Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares. {at...: Heb. by error}

12E estas cidades vos serão por refúgio do vingador do sangue; para que o homicida não morra, até que seja apresentado à congregação para julgamento.

12And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment.

13E das cidades que derdes haverá seis cidades de refúgio para vós.

13And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge.

14Três destas cidades dareis além do Jordão, e três destas cidades dareis na terra de Canaã; cidades de refúgio serão.

14Ye shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, {which} shall be cities of refuge.

15Serão por refúgio estas seis cidades para os filhos de Israel, e para o estrangeiro, e para o que se hospedar no meio deles, para que ali se acolha aquele que matar a alguém por engano.

15These six cities shall be a refuge, {both} for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither.

16Porém, se o ferir com instrumento de ferro e morrer, homicida é; certamente o homicida morrerá.

16And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he {is} a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

17Ou, se lhe ferir com uma pedrada, de que possa morrer, e morrer, homicida é; certamente o homicida morrerá.

17And if he smite him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he {is} a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. {with...: Heb. with a stone of the hand}

18Ou, se o ferir com instrumento de pau que tiver na mão, de que possa morrer, e ele morrer, homicida é; certamente morrerá o homicida.

18Or {if} he smite him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he {is} a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death.

19O vingador do sangue matará o homicida; encontrando-o, matá-lo-á.

19The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him.

20Se também o empurrar com ódio, ou com mau intento lançar contra ele alguma coisa, e morrer;

20But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die;

21Ou por inimizade o ferir com a sua mão, e morrer, certamente morrerá aquele que o ferir; homicida é; o vingador do sangue, encontrando o homicida, o matará.

21Or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote {him} shall surely be put to death; {for} he {is} a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him.

22Porém, se o empurrar subitamente, sem inimizade, ou contra ele lançar algum instrumento sem intenção;

22But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait,

23Ou, sobre ele deixar cair alguma pedra sem o ver, de que possa morrer, e ele morrer, sem que fosse seu inimigo nem procurasse o seu mal;

23Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing {him} not, and cast {it} upon him, that he die, and {was} not his enemy, neither sought his harm:

24Então a congregação julgará entre aquele que feriu e o vingador do sangue, segundo estas leis.

24Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments:

25E a congregação livrará o homicida da mão do vingador do sangue, e a congregação o fará voltar à cidade do seu refúgio, onde se tinha acolhido; e ali ficará até à morte do sumo sacerdote, a quem ungiram com o santo óleo.

25And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil.

26Porém, se de alguma maneira o homicida sair dos limites da cidade de refúgio, onde se tinha acolhido,

26But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, whither he was fled;

27E o vingador do sangue o achar fora dos limites da cidade de seu refúgio, e o matar, não será culpado do sangue.

27And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood: {he...: Heb. no blood shall be to him}

28Pois o homicida deverá ficar na cidade do seu refúgio, até à morte do sumo sacerdote; mas, depois da morte do sumo sacerdote, o homicida voltará à terra da sua possessão.

28Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession.

29E estas coisas vos serão por estatuto de direito às vossas gerações, em todas as vossas habitações.

29So these {things} shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

30Todo aquele que matar alguma pessoa, conforme depoimento de testemunhas, será morto; mas uma só testemunha não testemunhará contra alguém, para que morra.

30Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person {to cause him} to die.

31E não recebereis resgate pela vida do homicida que é culpado de morte; pois certamente morrerá.

31Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which {is} guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death. {guilty...: Heb. faulty to die}

32Também não tomareis resgate por aquele que se acolher à sua cidade de refúgio, para tornar a habitar na terra, até à morte do sumo sacerdote.

32And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest.

33Assim não profanareis a terra em que estais; porque o sangue faz profanar a terra; e nenhuma expiação se fará pela terra por causa do sangue que nela se derramar, senão com o sangue daquele que o derramou.

33So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye {are}: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it. {the land cannot...: Heb. there can be no expiation for the land}

34Não contaminareis pois a terra na qual vós habitais, no meio da qual eu habito; pois eu, o Senhor, habito no meio dos filhos de Israel.

34Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.
