Números 11

1E aconteceu que, queixou-se o povo falando o que era mal aos ouvidos do SENHOR; e ouvindo o SENHOR a sua ira se acendeu; e o fogo do SENHOR ardeu entre eles e consumiu os que estavam na última parte do arraial.

1And {when} the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard {it}; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed {them that were} in the uttermost parts of the camp. {complained: or, were as it were complainers} {it displeased: Heb. it was evil in the ears of}

2Então o povo clamou a Moisés, e Moisés orou ao Senhor, e o fogo se apagou.

2And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched. {was...: Heb. sunk}

3Pelo que chamou aquele lugar Taberá, porquanto o fogo do Senhor se acendera entre eles.

3And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them. {Taberah: that is, A burning}

4E o vulgo, que estava no meio deles, veio a ter grande desejo; pelo que os filhos de Israel tornaram a chorar, e disseram: Quem nos dará carne a comer?

4And the mixt multitude that {was} among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? {fell...: Heb. lusted a lust} {wept...: Heb. returned and wept}

5Lembramo-nos dos peixes que no Egito comíamos de graça; e dos pepinos, e dos melões, e dos porros, e das cebolas, e dos alhos.

5We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:

6Mas agora a nossa alma se seca; coisa nenhuma há senão este maná diante dos nossos olhos.

6But now our soul {is} dried away: {there is} nothing at all, beside this manna, {before} our eyes.

7E era o maná como semente de coentro, e a sua cor como a cor de bdélio.

7And the manna {was} as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium. {colour thereof...: Heb. eye of it as the eye of}

8Espalhava-se o povo e o colhia, e em moinhos o moía, ou num gral o pisava, e em panelas o cozia, e dele fazia bolos; e o seu sabor era como o sabor de azeite fresco.

8{And} the people went about, and gathered {it}, and ground {it} in mills, or beat {it} in a mortar, and baked {it} in pans, and made cakes of it: and the taste of it was as the taste of fresh oil.

9E, quando o orvalho descia de noite sobre o arraial, o maná descia sobre ele.

9And when the dew fell upon the camp in the night, the manna fell upon it.

10Então Moisés ouviu chorar o povo pelas suas famílias, cada qual à porta da sua tenda; e a ira do Senhor grandemente se acendeu, e pareceu mal aos olhos de Moisés.

10Then Moses heard the people weep throughout their families, every man in the door of his tent: and the anger of the LORD was kindled greatly; Moses also was displeased.

11E disse Moisés ao Senhor: Por que fizeste mal a teu servo, e por que não achei graça aos teus olhos, visto que puseste sobre mim o cargo de todo este povo?

11And Moses said unto the LORD, Wherefore hast thou afflicted thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favour in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?

12Concebi eu porventura todo este povo? Dei-o eu à luz? para que me dissesses: leva-o ao teu colo, como a ama leva a criança que mama, à terra que juraste a seus pais?

12Have I conceived all this people? have I begotten them, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing father beareth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?

13De onde teria eu carne para dar a todo este povo? Porquanto contra mim choram, dizendo: Dá-nos carne a comer;

13Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.

14Eu só não posso levar a todo este povo, porque muito pesado é para mim.

14I am not able to bear all this people alone, because {it is} too heavy for me.

15E se assim fazes comigo, mata-me, peço-te, se tenho achado graça aos teus olhos, e não me deixes ver o meu mal.

15And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favour in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

16E disse o Senhor a Moisés: Ajunta-me setenta homens dos anciãos de Israel, que sabes serem anciãos do povo e seus oficiais; e os trarás perante a tenda da congregação, e ali estejam contigo.

16And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.

17Então eu descerei e ali falarei contigo, e tirarei do espírito que está sobre ti, e o porei sobre eles; e contigo levarão a carga do povo, para que tu não a leves sozinho.

17And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which {is} upon thee, and will put {it} upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear {it} not thyself alone.

18E dirás ao povo: Santificai-vos para amanhã, e comereis carne; porquanto chorastes aos ouvidos do Senhor, dizendo: Quem nos dará carne a comer? Pois íamos bem no Egito; por isso o Senhor vos dará carne, e comereis;

18And say thou unto the people, Sanctify yourselves against to morrow, and ye shall eat flesh: for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for {it was} well with us in Egypt: therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat.

19Não comereis um dia, nem dois dias, nem cinco dias, nem dez dias, nem vinte dias;

19Ye shall not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days;

20Mas um mês inteiro, até vos sair pelas narinas, até que vos enfastieis dela; porquanto rejeitastes ao Senhor, que está no meio de vós, e chorastes diante dele, dizendo: Por que saímos do Egito?

20{But} even a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it be loathsome unto you: because that ye have despised the LORD which {is} among you, and have wept before him, saying, Why came we forth out of Egypt? {whole...: Heb. month of days}

21E disse Moisés: Seiscentos mil homens de pé é este povo, no meio do qual estou; e tu tens dito: Dar-lhes-ei carne, e comerão um mês inteiro.

21And Moses said, The people, among whom I {am}, {are} six hundred thousand footmen; and thou hast said, I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.

22Degolar-se-ão para eles ovelhas e vacas que lhes bastem? Ou ajuntar-se-ão para eles todos os peixes do mar, que lhes bastem?

22Shall the flocks and the herds be slain for them, to suffice them? or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them?

23Porém, o Senhor disse a Moisés: Teria sido encurtada a mão do Senhor? Agora verás se a minha palavra se há de cumprir ou não.

23And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD'S hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not.

24E saiu Moisés, e falou as palavras do Senhor ao povo, e ajuntou setenta homens dos anciãos do povo e os pôs ao redor da tenda.

24And Moses went out, and told the people the words of the LORD, and gathered the seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them round about the tabernacle.

25Então o Senhor desceu na nuvem, e lhe falou; e, tirando do espírito, que estava sobre ele, o pôs sobre aqueles setenta anciãos; e aconteceu que, quando o espírito repousou sobre eles, profetizaram; mas depois nunca mais.

25And the LORD came down in a cloud, and spake unto him, and took of the spirit that {was} upon him, and gave {it} unto the seventy elders: and it came to pass, {that}, when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied, and did not cease.

26Porém no arraial ficaram dois homens; o nome de um era Eldade, e do outro Medade; e repousou sobre eles o espírito (porquanto estavam entre os inscritos, ainda que não saíram à tenda), e profetizavam no arraial.

26But there remained two {of the} men in the camp, the name of the one {was} Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the spirit rested upon them; and they {were} of them that were written, but went not out unto the tabernacle: and they prophesied in the camp.

27Então correu um moço e anunciou a Moisés e disse: Eldade e Medade profetizam no arraial.

27And there ran a young man, and told Moses, and said, Eldad and Medad do prophesy in the camp.

28E Josué, filho de Num, servidor de Moisés, um dos seus jovens escolhidos, respondeu e disse: Moisés, meu senhor, proíbe-lho.

28And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, {one} of his young men, answered and said, My lord Moses, forbid them.

29Porém, Moisés lhe disse: Tens tu ciúmes por mim? Quem dera que todo o povo do Senhor fosse profeta, e que o Senhor pusesse o seu espírito sobre ele!

29And Moses said unto him, Enviest thou for my sake? would God that all the LORD'S people were prophets, {and} that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

30Depois Moisés se recolheu ao arraial, ele e os anciãos de Israel.

30And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.

31Então soprou um vento do Senhor e trouxe codornizes do mar, e as espalhou pelo arraial quase caminho de um dia, de um lado e de outro lado, ao redor do arraial; quase dois côvados sobre a terra.

31And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let {them} fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits {high} upon the face of the earth. {as it were a day's...: Heb. as it were the way of a day}

32Então o povo se levantou todo aquele dia e toda aquela noite, e todo o dia seguinte, e colheram as codornizes; o que menos tinha, colhera dez ômeres; e as estenderam para si ao redor do arraial.

32And the people stood up all that day, and all {that} night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread {them} all abroad for themselves round about the camp.

33Quando a carne estava entre os seus dentes, antes que fosse mastigada, se acendeu a ira do Senhor contra o povo, e feriu o Senhor o povo com uma praga mui grande.

33And while the flesh {was} yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague.

34Por isso o nome daquele lugar se chamou Quibrote-Ataavá, porquanto ali enterraram o povo que teve o desejo.

34And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted. {Kibrothhattaavah: that is, The graves of lust}

35De Quibrote-Ataavá caminhou o povo para Hazerote, e pararam em Hazerote.

35{And} the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth. {abode at: Heb. they were in}
