Natividade de Maria 4

1Saíram arautos por toda a Judéia e todos os viúvos acudiram.

1Heralds went out throughout all Judea and all the widowers came.

2A sorte recaiu sobre o velho José, homem justo e carpinteiro.

2The lot fell upon the old man Joseph, a righteous man and carpenter.

3José levou Maria para sua casa, onde ela encontrou o pequeno Tiago órfão.

3Joseph took Mary to his house, where she found the little orphan James.

4Maria o cobriu de carinhos. Por isso a chamaram Maria, mãe de Tiago.

4Mary showered him with affection. For this reason they called her Mary, mother of James.

5José partiu para exercer o ofício de carpinteiro.

5Joseph left to practice his trade as a carpenter.

6Maria viveu em sua casa até que chegou o tempo feliz da Anunciação.

6Mary lived in his house until the happy time of the Annunciation arrived.

7E assim se cumpriu a promessa do Senhor sobre a Virgem Maria.

7And thus the Lord's promise concerning the Virgin Mary was fulfilled.
