Miquéias 6

1Ouvi agora o que diz o SENHOR: Levanta-te, contende com os montes, e ouçam os outeiros a tua voz.

1Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice. {before: or, with}

2Ouvi, montes, a demanda do Senhor, e vós, fortes fundamentos da terra; porque o Senhor tem uma demanda com o seu povo, e com Israel entrará em juízo.

2Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

3Ó povo meu; que te tenho feito? E com que te enfadei? Testifica contra mim.

3O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.

4Pois te fiz subir da terra do Egito, e da casa da servidão te remi; e enviei adiante de ti a Moisés, Arão e Miriã.

4For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

5Povo meu, lembra-te agora do que consultou Balaque, rei de Moabe, e o que lhe respondeu Balaão, filho de Beor, e do que aconteceu desde Sitim até Gilgal, para que conheças as justiças do Senhor.

5O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.

6Com que me apresentarei ao Senhor, e me inclinarei diante do Deus altíssimo? Apresentar-me-ei diante dele com holocaustos, com bezerros de um ano?

6Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, {and} bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? {of a...: Heb. sons of a year?}

7Agradar-se-á o Senhor de milhares de carneiros, ou de dez mil ribeiros de azeite? Darei o meu primogênito pela minha transgressão, o fruto do meu ventre pelo pecado da minha alma?

7Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, {or} with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn {for} my transgression, the fruit of my body {for} the sin of my soul? {body: Heb. belly}

8Ele te declarou, ó homem, o que é bom; e que é o que o Senhor pede de ti, senão que pratiques a justiça, e ames a benignidade, e andes humildemente com o teu Deus?

8He hath shewed thee, O man, what {is} good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? {walk...: Heb. humble thyself to walk}

9A voz do Senhor clama à cidade e o que é sábio verá o teu nome. Ouvi a vara, e quem a ordenou.

9The LORD'S voice crieth unto the city, and {the man of} wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it. {the man...: or, thy name shall see that which is}

10Ainda há na casa do ímpio tesouros da impiedade, e medida escassa, que é detestável?

10Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure {that is} abominable? {Are...: or, Is there yet unto every man an house of the, etc} {scant...: Heb. measure of leanness}

11Seria eu limpo com balanças falsas, e com uma bolsa de pesos enganosos?

11Shall I count {them} pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? {count...: or, be pure with, etc}

12Porque os seus ricos estão cheios de violência, e os seus habitantes falam mentiras e a sua língua é enganosa na sua boca.

12For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue {is} deceitful in their mouth.

13Assim eu também te enfraquecerei, ferindo-te e assolando-te por causa dos teus pecados.

13Therefore also will I make {thee} sick in smiting thee, in making {thee} desolate because of thy sins.

14Tu comerás, mas não te fartarás, e a tua humilhação estará no meio de ti; removerás os teus bens mas não livrarás; e aquilo que livrares, eu o entregarei à espada.

14Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down {shall be} in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and {that} which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.

15Tu semearás, mas não segarás; pisarás a azeitona, mas não te ungirás com azeite; e pisarás o mosto, mas não beberás vinho.

15Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.

16Porque se observam os estatutos de Onri, e toda a obra da casa de Acabe, e andais nos conselhos deles; para que eu te faça uma desolação, e dos seus habitantes um assobio; assim trareis sobre vós o opróbrio do meu povo.

16For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people. {For the...: or, For he doth much keep the, etc} {desolation: or, astonishment}
