Miquéias 2

1Ai daqueles que nas suas camas intentam a iniqüidade, e maquinam o mal; à luz da alva o praticam, porque está no poder da sua mão!

1Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.

2E cobiçam campos, e roubam-nos, cobiçam casas, e arrebatam-nas; assim fazem violência a um homem e à sua casa, a uma pessoa e à sua herança.

2And they covet fields, and take {them} by violence; and houses, and take {them} away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage. {oppress: or, defraud}

3Portanto, assim diz o Senhor: Eis que projeto um mal contra esta família, do qual não tirareis os vossos pescoços, e não andareis tão altivos, porque o tempo será mau.

3Therefore thus saith the LORD; Behold, against this family do I devise an evil, from which ye shall not remove your necks; neither shall ye go haughtily: for this time {is} evil.

4Naquele dia se levantará sobre vós um provérbio, e se lamentará pranto lastimoso, dizendo: Nós estamos inteiramente desolados; a porção do meu povo ele a troca; como me despoja! Tira os nossos campos e os reparte!

4In that day shall {one} take up a parable against you, and lament with a doleful lamentation, {and} say, We be utterly spoiled: he hath changed the portion of my people: how hath he removed {it} from me! turning away he hath divided our fields. {a doleful...: Heb. a lamentation of lamentations} {turning...: or, instead of restoring}

5Portanto, não terás tu na congregação do Senhor quem lance o cordel pela sorte.

5Therefore thou shalt have none that shall cast a cord by lot in the congregation of the LORD.

6Não profetizeis aos que profetizam; eles não profetizarão para eles, pois não se apartará a sua vergonha.

6Prophesy ye not, {say they to them that} prophesy: they shall not prophesy to them, {that} they shall not take shame. {Prophesy ye...: or, Prophesy not as they prophesy: Heb. Drop, etc}

7Ó vós que sois chamados casa de Jacó, porventura encurtou-se o Espírito do Senhor? São estas as suas obras? E não é assim que fazem bem as minhas palavras ao que anda retamente?

7O {thou that art} named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened? {are} these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly? {straitened: or, shortened?} {uprightly: Heb. upright?}

8Mas ontem, se levantou o meu povo como inimigo; de sobre a vestidura tirastes a capa daqueles que passavam seguros, como homens que voltavam da guerra.

8Even of late my people is risen up as an enemy: ye pull off the robe with the garment from them that pass by securely as men averse from war. {of late: Heb. yesterday} {with the: Heb. over against a}

9Lançastes fora as mulheres do meu povo, da casa das suas delícias; das suas crianças tirastes para sempre a minha glória.

9The women of my people have ye cast out from their pleasant houses; from their children have ye taken away my glory for ever. {women: or, wives}

10Levantai-vos, e ide-vos, porque este não é lugar de descanso; por causa da imundícia que traz destruição, sim, destruição enorme.

10Arise ye, and depart; for this {is} not {your} rest: because it is polluted, it shall destroy {you}, even with a sore destruction.

11Se houver alguém que, andando com espírito de falsidade, mentir, dizendo: Eu te profetizarei sobre o vinho e a bebida forte; será esse tal o profeta deste povo.

11If a man walking in the spirit and falsehood do lie, {saying}, I will prophesy unto thee of wine and of strong drink; he shall even be the prophet of this people. {walking...: or, walk with the wind, and lie falsely}

12Certamente te ajuntarei todo, ó Jacó; certamente congregarei o restante de Israel; pô-los-ei todos juntos, como ovelhas de Bozra; como o rebanho no meio do seu pasto, farão estrondo por causa da multidão dos homens.

12I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of {the multitude of} men.

13Subirá diante deles o que abrirá o caminho; eles romperão, e entrarão pela porta, e sairão por ela; e o rei irá adiante deles, e o Senhor à testa deles.

13The breaker is come up before them: they have broken up, and have passed through the gate, and are gone out by it: and their king shall pass before them, and the LORD on the head of them.
