Marcos 15

1E, logo ao amanhecer, os principais dos sacerdotes, com os anciãos, e os escribas, e todo o Sinédrio, tiveram conselho; e, ligando Jesus, o levaram e entregaram a Pilatos.

1And straightway in the morning the chief priests held a consultation with the elders and scribes and the whole council, and bound Jesus, and carried {him} away, and delivered {him} to Pilate.

2E Pilatos lhe perguntou: Tu és o Rei dos Judeus? E ele, respondendo, disse-lhe: Tu o dizes.

2And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto him, Thou sayest {it}.

3E os principais dos sacerdotes o acusavam de muitas coisas; porém ele nada respondia.

3And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.

4E Pilatos o interrogou outra vez, dizendo: Nada respondes? Vê quantas coisas testificam contra ti.

4And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.

5Mas Jesus nada mais respondeu, de maneira que Pilatos se maravilhava.

5But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.

6Ora, no dia da festa costumava soltar-lhes um preso qualquer que eles pedissem.

6Now at {that} feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.

7E havia um chamado Barrabás, que, preso com outros amotinado- res, tinha num motim cometido uma morte.

7And there was {one} named Barabbas, {which lay} bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.

8E a multidão, dando gritos, começou a pedir que fizesse como sempre lhes tinha feito.

8And the multitude crying aloud began to desire {him to do} as he had ever done unto them.

9E Pilatos lhes respondeu, dizendo: Quereis que vos solte o Rei dos Judeus?

9But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?

10Porque ele bem sabia que por inveja os principais dos sacerdotes o tinham entregado.

10For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.

11Mas os principais dos sacerdotes incitaram a multidão para que fosse solto antes Barrabás.

11But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.

12E Pilatos, respondendo, lhes disse outra vez: Que quereis, pois, que faça daquele a quem chamais Rei dos Judeus?

12And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do {unto him} whom ye call the King of the Jews?

13E eles tornaram a clamar: Crucifica-o.

13And they cried out again, Crucify him.

14Mas Pilatos lhes disse: Mas que mal fez? E eles cada vez clamavam mais: Crucifica-o.

14Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him.

15Então Pilatos, querendo satisfazer a multidão, soltou-lhe Barrabás e, açoitado Jesus, o entregou para ser crucificado.

15And {so} Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged {him}, to be crucified.

16E os soldados o levaram dentro à sala, que é a da audiência, e convocaram toda a coorte.

16And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. {Praetorium: or, the palace, or, hall of audience}

17E vestiram-no de púrpura, e tecendo uma coroa de espinhos, lha puseram na cabeça.

17And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his {head},

18E começaram a saudá-lo, dizendo: Salve, Rei dos Judeus!

18And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!

19E feriram-no na cabeça com uma cana, e cuspiram nele e, postos de joelhos, o adoraram.

19And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing {their} knees worshipped him.

20E, havendo-o escarnecido, despiram-lhe a púrpura, e o vestiram com as suas próprias vestes; e o levaram para fora a fim de o crucificarem.

20And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.

21E constrangeram um certo Simão, cireneu, pai de Alexandre e de Rufo, que por ali passava, vindo do campo, a que levasse a cruz.

21And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.

22E levaram-no ao lugar doGólgota, que se traduz por lugar da Caveira.

22And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.

23E deram-lhe a beber vinho com mirra, mas ele não o tomou.

23And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received {it} not.

24E, havendo-o crucificado, repartiram as suas vestes, lançando sobre elas sortes, para saber o que cada um levaria.

24And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.

25E era a hora terceira, e o crucificaram.

25And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.

26E por cima dele estava escrita a sua acusação: O REI DOS JUDEUS.

26And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

27E crucificaram com ele dois salteadores, um à sua direita, e outro à esquerda.

27And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.

28E cumprindo-se a escritura que diz: E com os malfeitores foi contado.

28And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.

29E os que passavam blasfemavam dele, meneando as suas cabeças, e dizendo: Ah! tu que derrubas o templo, e em três dias o edificas,

29And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest {it} in three days,

30Salva-te a ti mesmo, e desce da cruz.

30Save thyself, and come down from the cross.

31E da mesma maneira também os principais dos sacerdotes, com os escribas, diziam uns para os outros, zombando: Salvou os outros, e não pode salvar-se a si mesmo.

31Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.

32O Cristo, o Rei de Israel, desça agora da cruz, para que o vejamos e acreditemos. Também os que com ele foram crucificados o injuriavam.

32Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.

33E, chegada a hora sexta, houve trevas sobre toda a terra até a hora nona.

33And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.

34E, à hora nona, Jesus exclamou com grande voz, dizendo: Eloí, Eloí, lamá sabactâni? que, traduzido, é: Deus meu, Deus meu, por que me desamparaste?

34And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

35E alguns dos que ali estavam, ouvindo isto, diziam: Eis que chama por Elias.

35And some of them that stood by, when they heard {it}, said, Behold, he calleth Elias.

36E um deles correu a embeber uma esponja em vinagre e, pondo-a numa cana, deu-lho a beber, dizendo: Deixai, vejamos se virá Elias tirá-lo.

36And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put {it} on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down.

37E Jesus, dando um grande brado, expirou.

37And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

38E o véu do templo se rasgou em dois, de alto a baixo.

38And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

39E o centurião, que estava defronte dele, vendo que assim clamando expirara, disse: Verdadeiramente este homem era o Filho de Deus.

39And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

40E também ali estavam algumas mulheres, olhando de longe, entre as quais também Maria Madalena, e Maria, mãe de Tiago, o menor, e de José, e Salomé;

40There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

41As quais também o seguiam, e o serviam, quando estava na Galiléia; e muitas outras, que tinham subido com ele a Jerusalém.

41(Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.

42E, chegada a tarde, porquanto era o dia da preparação, isto é, a véspera do sábado,

42And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,

43Chegou José de Arimatéia, senador honrado, que também esperava o reino de Deus, e ousadamente foi a Pilatos, e pediu o corpo de Jesus.

43Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

44E Pilatos se maravilhou de que já estivesse morto. E, chamando o centurião, perguntou-lhe se já havia muito que tinha morrido.

44And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling {unto him} the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.

45E, tendo-se certificado pelo centurião, deu o corpo a José;

45And when he knew {it} of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.

46O qual comprara um lençol fino, e, tirando-o da cruz, o envolveu nele, e o depositou num sepulcro lavrado numa rocha; e revolveu uma pedra para a porta do sepulcro.

46And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.

47E Maria Madalena e Maria, mãe de José, observavam onde o punham.

47And Mary Magdalene and Mary {the mother} of Joses beheld where he was laid.
