Marcos 14

1E dali a dois dias era a páscoa, e a festa dos pães ázimos; e os principais dos sacerdotes e os escribas buscavam como o prenderiam com dolo, e o matariam.

1After two days was {the feast of} the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put {him} to death.

2Mas eles diziam: Não na festa, para que porventura não se faça alvoroço entre o povo.

2But they said, Not on the feast {day}, lest there be an uproar of the people.

3E, estando ele em betânia, assentado à mesa, em casa de Simão, o leproso, veio uma mulher, que trazia um vaso de alabastro, com ungüento de nardo puro, de muito preço, e quebrando o vaso, lho derramou sobre a cabeça.

3And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured {it} on his head. {spikenard: or, pure nard, or, liquid nard}

4E alguns houve que em si mesmos se indignaram, e disseram: Para que se fez este desperdício de ungüento?

4And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?

5Porque podia vender-se por mais de trezentos dinheiros, e dá-lo aos pobres. E bramavam contra ela.

5For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.

6Jesus, porém, disse: Deixai-a, por que a molestais? Ela fez-me boa obra.

6And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.

7Porque sempre tendes os pobres convosco, e podeis fazer-lhes bem, quando quiserdes; mas a mim nem sempre me tendes.

7For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.

8Esta fez o que podia; antecipou-se a ungir o meu corpo para a sepultura.

8She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.

9Em verdade vos digo que, em todas as partes do mundo onde este evangelho for pregado, também o que ela fez será contado para sua memória.

9Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, {this} also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.

10E Judas Iscariotes, um dos doze, foi ter com os principais dos sacerdotes para lho entregar.

10And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them.

11E eles, ouvindo-o, folgaram, e prometeram dar-lhe dinheiro; e buscava como o entregaria em ocasião oportuna.

11And when they heard {it}, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

12E, no primeiro dia dos pães ázimos, quando sacrificavam a páscoa, disseram-lhe os discípulos: Aonde queres que vamos fazer os preparativos para comer a páscoa?

12And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where wilt thou that we go and prepare that thou mayest eat the passover? {killed: or, sacrificed}

13E enviou dois dos seus discípulos, e disse-lhes: Ide à cidade, e um homem, que leva um cântaro de água, vos encontrará; segui-o.

13And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.

14E, onde quer que entrar, dizei ao senhor da casa: O Mestre diz: Onde está o aposento em que hei de comer a páscoa com os meus discípulos?

14And wheresoever he shall go in, say ye to the goodman of the house, The Master saith, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?

15E ele vos mostrará um grande cenáculo mobilado e preparado; preparai-a ali.

15And he will shew you a large upper room furnished {and} prepared: there make ready for us.

16E, saindo os seus discípulos, foram à cidade, e acharam como lhes tinha dito, e prepararam a páscoa.

16And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.

17E, chegada a tarde, foi com os doze.

17And in the evening he cometh with the twelve.

18E, quando estavam assentados a comer, disse Jesus: Em verdade vos digo que um de vós, que comigo come, há de trair-me.

18And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you which eateth with me shall betray me.

19E eles começaram a entristecer-se e a dizer-lhe um após outro: Sou eu? E outro disse: Sou eu?

19And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, {Is} it I? and another {said, Is} it I?

20Mas ele, respondendo, disse-lhes: É um dos doze, que põe comigo a mão no prato.

20And he answered and said unto them, {It is} one of the twelve, that dippeth with me in the dish.

21Na verdade o Filho do homem vai, como dele está escrito, mas ai daquele homem por quem o Filho do homem é traído! Bom seria para o tal homem não haver nascido.

21The Son of man indeed goeth, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

22E, comendo eles, tomou Jesus pão e, abençoando-o, o partiu e deu-lho, e disse: Tomai, comei, isto é o meu corpo.

22And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake {it}, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.

23E, tomando o cálice, e dando graças, deu-lho; e todos beberam dele.

23And he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave {it} to them: and they all drank of it.

24E disse-lhes: Isto é o meu sangue, o sangue do novo testamento, que por muitos é derramado.

24And he said unto them, This is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many.

25Em verdade vos digo que não beberei mais do fruto da vide, até àquele dia em que o beber, novo, no reino de Deus.

25Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

26E, tendo cantado o hino, saíram para o Monte das Oliveiras.

26And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives. {hymn: or, psalm}

27E disse-lhes Jesus: Todos vós esta noite vos escandalizareis em mim; porque está escrito: Ferirei o pastor, e as ovelhas se dispersarão.

27And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. {offended: or, scandalized, or, shall stumble}

28Mas, depois que eu houver ressuscitado, irei adiante de vós para a Galiléia.

28But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

29E disse-lhe Pedro: Ainda que todos se escandalizem, nunca, porém, eu.

29But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet {will} not I.

30E disse-lhe Jesus: Em verdade te digo que hoje, nesta noite, antes que o galo cante duas vezes, três vezes me negarás.

30And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, {even} in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.

31Mas ele disse com mais veemência: Ainda que me seja necessário morrer contigo, de modo nenhum te negarei. E da mesma maneira diziam todos também.

31But he spake the more vehemently, If I should die with thee, I will not deny thee in any wise. Likewise also said they all.

32E foram a um lugar chamado Getsêmani, e disse aos seus discípulos: Assentai-vos aqui, enquanto eu oro.

32And they came to a place which was named Gethsemane: and he saith to his disciples, Sit ye here, while I shall pray.

33E tomou consigo a Pedro, e a Tiago, e a João, e começou a ter pavor, e a angustiar-se.

33And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

34E disse-lhes: A minha alma está profundamente triste até a morte; ficai aqui, e vigiai.

34And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.

35E, tendo ido um pouco mais adiante, prostrou-se em terra; e orou para que, se fosse possível, passasse dele aquela hora.

35And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

36E disse: Aba, Pai, todas as coisas te são possíveis; afasta de mim este cálice; não seja, porém, o que eu quero, mas o que tu queres.

36And he said, Abba, Father, all things {are} possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

37E, chegando, achou-os dormindo; e disse a Pedro: Simão, dormes? não podes vigiar uma hora?

37And he cometh, and findeth them sleeping, and saith unto Peter, Simon, sleepest thou? couldest not thou watch one hour?

38Vigiai e orai, para que não entreis em tentação; o espírito, na verdade, está pronto, mas a carne é fraca.

38Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. The spirit truly {is} ready, but the flesh {is} weak.

39E foi outra vez e orou, dizendo as mesmas palavras.

39And again he went away, and prayed, and spake the same words.

40E, voltando, achou-os outra vez dormindo, porque os seus olhos estavam pesados, e não sabiam o que responder-lhe.

40And when he returned, he found them asleep again, (for their eyes were heavy,) neither wist they what to answer him.

41E voltou terceira vez, e disse-lhes: Dormi agora, e descansai. Basta; é chegada a hora. Eis que o Filho do homem vai ser entregue nas mãos dos pecadores.

41And he cometh the third time, and saith unto them, Sleep on now, and take {your} rest: it is enough, the hour is come; behold, the Son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

42Levantai-vos, vamos; eis que está perto o que me trai.

42Rise up, let us go; lo, he that betrayeth me is at hand.

43E logo, falando ele ainda, veio Judas, que era um dos doze, da parte dos principais dos sacerdotes, e dos escribas e dos anciãos, e com ele uma grande multidão com espadas e varapaus.

43And immediately, while he yet spake, cometh Judas, one of the twelve, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.

44Ora, o que o traía, tinha-lhes dado um sinal, dizendo: Aquele que eu beijar, esse é; prendei-o, e levai-o com segurança.

44And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him, and lead {him} away safely.

45E, logo que chegou, aproximou-se dele, e disse-lhe: Rabi, Rabi. E beijou-o.

45And as soon as he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, master; and kissed him.

46E lançaram-lhe as mãos, e o prenderam.

46And they laid their hands on him, and took him.

47E um dos que ali estavam presentes, puxando da espada, feriu o servo do sumo sacerdote, e cortou-lhe uma orelha.

47And one of them that stood by drew a sword, and smote a servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

48E, respondendo Jesus, disse-lhes: Saístes com espadas e varapaus a prender-me, como a um salteador?

48And Jesus answered and said unto them, Are ye come out, as against a thief, with swords and {with} staves to take me?

49Todos os dias estava convosco ensinando no templo, e não me prendestes; mas isto é para que as Escrituras se cumpram.

49I was daily with you in the temple teaching, and ye took me not: but the scriptures must be fulfilled.

50Então, deixando-o, todos fugiram.

50And they all forsook him, and fled.

51E um certo jovem o seguia, envolto em um lençol sobre o corpo nu. E lançaram-lhe a mão.

51And there followed him a certain young man, having a linen cloth cast about {his} naked {body}; and the young men laid hold on him:

52Mas ele, largando o lençol, fugiu nu. Jesus perante o Sinédrio. Negação de Pedro

52And he left the linen cloth, and fled from them naked.

53E levaram Jesus ao sumo sacerdote, e ajuntaram-se todos os principais dos sacerdotes, e os anciãos e os escribas.

53And they led Jesus away to the high priest: and with him were assembled all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes.

54E Pedro o seguiu de longe até dentro do pátio do sumo sacerdote, e estava assentado com os servidores, aquentando-se ao lume.

54And Peter followed him afar off, even into the palace of the high priest: and he sat with the servants, and warmed himself at the fire.

55E os principais dos sacerdotes e todo o concílio buscavam algum testemunho contra Jesus, para o matar, e não o achavam.

55And the chief priests and all the council sought for witness against Jesus to put him to death; and found none.

56Porque muitos testificavam falsamente contra ele, mas os testemunhos não eram coerentes.

56For many bare false witness against him, but their witness agreed not together.

57E, levantando-se alguns, testificaram falsamente contra ele, dizendo:

57And there arose certain, and bare false witness against him, saying,

58Nós ouvimos-lhe dizer: Eu derrubarei este templo, construído por mãos de homens, e em três dias edificarei outro, não feito por mãos de homens.

58We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.

59E nem assim o seu testemunho era coerente.

59But neither so did their witness agree together.

60E, levantando-se o sumo sacerdote no Sinédrio, perguntou a Jesus, dizendo: Nada respondes? Que testificam estes contra ti?

60And the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, saying, Answerest thou nothing? what {is it which} these witness against thee?

61Mas ele calou-se, e nada respondeu. O sumo sacerdote lhe tornou a perguntar, e disse-lhe: És tu o Cristo, Filho do Deus Bendito?

61But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

62E Jesus disse-lhe: Eu o sou, e vereis o Filho do homem assentado à direita do poder de Deus, e vindo sobre as nuvens do céu.

62And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

63E o sumo sacerdote, rasgando as suas vestes, disse: Para que necessitamos de mais testemunhas?

63Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses?

64Vós ouvistes a blasfêmia; que vos parece? E todos o consideraram culpado de morte.

64Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death.

65E alguns começaram a cuspir nele, e a cobrir-lhe o rosto, e a dar-lhe punhadas, e a dizer-lhe: Profetiza. E os servidores davam-lhe bofetadas.

65And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.

66E, estando Pedro embaixo, noátrio, chegou uma das criadas do sumo sacerdote;

66And as Peter was beneath in the palace, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest:

67E, vendo a Pedro, que se estava aquentando, olhou para ele, e disse: Tu também estavas com Jesus, o Nazareno.

67And when she saw Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and said, And thou also wast with Jesus of Nazareth.

68Mas ele negou-o, dizendo: Não o conheço, nem sei o que dizes. E saiu fora ao alpendre, e o galo cantou.

68But he denied, saying, I know not, neither understand I what thou sayest. And he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.

69E a criada, vendo-o outra vez, começou a dizer aos que ali estavam: Este é um dos tais.

69And a maid saw him again, and began to say to them that stood by, This is {one} of them.

70Mas ele o negou outra vez. E pouco depois os que ali estavam disseram outra vez a Pedro: Verdadeiramente tu és um deles, porque és também galileu, e tua fala é semelhante.

70And he denied it again. And a little after, they that stood by said again to Peter, Surely thou art {one} of them: for thou art a Galilaean, and thy speech agreeth {thereto}.

71E ele começou a praguejar, e a jurar: Não conheço esse homem de quem falais.

71But he began to curse and to swear, {saying}, I know not this man of whom ye speak.

72E o galo cantou segunda vez. E Pedro lembrou-se da palavra que Jesus lhe tinha dito: Antes que o galo cante duas vezes, três vezes me negarás. E, retirando-se dali, chorou.

72And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept. {when...: or, he wept abundantly, or, he began to weep}
